@alands buddy a lot depends on your location, handset and time.
I use nokia 6681, earlier i used to get 200kbps, but after the start of this thread (which already has 1500+ views). The speeds aren't much, they rarely touch 100kbps, during night, but early morning they are good.

I am a BSNL cellone kerala user nd my portal settings are as given
APN : celloneportal
IP : 10.31.54.2
user name : ppp
pwd : ppp123
home : wap.cellone.in
my handset model is LG 2050 nd in which im using the airtel gprs using airtelfun.com as apn which works smoothly.But when i try connect using BSNL portal i can connect through pc but when i enter addres normal this page can not be displayed i've tried both by entering proxy settings nd removing tat both doesnt work nd same rslt appears.When i tried to find DNS server by giving ipconfig/all two add appears as 61.1.96.69 and 61.1.96.71 but when i executed command
@ping -t 61.1.96.69
@pause
and
@ping -t 61.1.96.71
@pause
im getting a msg host unreacheable can u tell any method to overcome this pblem nd make the thngs work smoothly............Plz help

as it is that you are using apn as celloneportal so you gotta use ip as 192.168.51.163 and port as 8080
leave the rest of fields empty.
Then use the trick:)

My dear bro i have changed the settings to all other alternates given in the forum but every thing results in single msg "This page cannot displayed"
nd i cant get a reply from DNS server wot can i do

Hey yaar im using BSNL gprs for last 1.5yrs so i think theres no requrment for a seperate portak actvtn.nd i can get the portal home page with this settings
APN : celloneportal
IP : 10.31.54.2
user name : ppp
pwd : ppp123
home : wap.cellone.in
so im sure tat my poral is activated,is it so?
But the pblm arises whn i try to take sites other thn home page through pc.
Plz tell me wot response u people r getng,,,,
whn ping with ur DNS server which is available executng ipconfig/all in cmd prompt usually i should get a reply frm dns server when i xcute ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx(which is dns add) after successful connectn but the same reslt in msg "host unreachble " for me which normally means i dnt have any more fullfledged gprs access.....
plz share any new ideas or solid soltns to solve this pblm,,,,,,
or is it tat much sure this trick works even now?!
if above setngs can bring me to portal homepage thn y not the same setngs fail to work with all these tricks Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz reply

hey,ok i understand wat u wanna to say.if u r able to open wap.cellone.in on yr mobile then try this.firstly connect yr mobile to yr pc as modem.then open the wap.cellone.in in yr mobile and keep it open.then try to open web in yr PC. now u can access any site from PC. but remember that keep ooopen the portal on yr mobile till u use internet in yr pc.enjoy....

set the streaming settings of yr phone to one which r u using in cellone portal.

ok rishi i'll try it nd let us see wot happens!
if u know how to connect through mms settings publish the setngs nd method so that u can avoid flooding of portal server ultimately every person get better speed..........
Another imp thing i want to ask is the necessity of enterng proxy in browser conn setng whether such thng is needed or is the servce avlable without enterng tat?anyway thnx for urs advice nd the same imxpctng in future
