I think it's great. The RAM can be an issue, especially when browsing ordinary web pages with lots of images. Haven't been able to tell whether or not it's an issue when using other apps.
What's the greatest feature of the P990i is the ease of navigation. It's just a breeze to use! Way, way better than any other smartphone I've ever tried. Messaging is easier than taking a nap, and everything is logically placed. This was certainly not the case with the P910 and previous models. At least not in comparison.
Every feature but the golf game works well. Indeed, the phone reboots itself sporadically, but I'm dismissing that as a misfeature that'll be cured by a firmware upgrade (hopefully!).

thanks.
that's exactly how i got the settings for my MMS. however, i still get errors from the GPRS/WAP settings that i got from the SE webpage.
i also use a MBP... and i use parallels instead of boot camp. i installed the SE softwares on windows, but the SE PC Suite for Smartphones cannot detect my p990i. good thing the bluetooth file transfer worked in OS X and i was able to transfer all my contacts to the phone.
i have yet to get the firmware update. did you notice any major improvement on your phone after you made the upgrade?

Just wanted to ask other P990 owners something. The flip in my P990 doesn't seem to snap open like the flip in the P900/910. It opens much more gradually. However, it snaps shut a lot like the previous phones. Is the normail. just want to make sure the mechanism in my flip isn't defective.

Hi Jah,
Does this mean that to use the BT headset to listen to the radio you MUST
connect the hard wired headset also (for FM reception)?

Discovered a wonderful trick that Masseur had described earlier.
Plugged-in the wired headset into the P990, switched on the FM Radio, linked my BT HBH-DS970 to the P990 to listen to the FM wireless and you can switch stations using the skip track switch on the DS970! Now this really is 'handy' little bounus

The phone's quite amazing. I just got mine yesterday and I love it. Got a bit of a scare yesterday when it suddenly died, but it seems like it needed a recharge since the red light came on already. And I do still have to upgrade the firmware to the latest R5A.
The ease of navigation is indeed great. I'm amazed at how simple it is to use UIQ3 (and how uncluttered it looks like compared to UIQ2). Everything so far is indicating that it's a great phone - I just hope that SE keeps on cranking out the firmware updates until it's really stable AND the memory usage is uber optimized.

parallels desktop will not detect your phone thru UBS (and other phone models fo that matter) boot camp is the best way to do it for now.
i cant really comment on the improvement after the software update/upgrade since out of the box, i immediately fired up boot camp and updated my phone.
I used my k800i to transfer my contacts after. and synced (with boot camp) using SE PC Suite.
what errors do you get? is it the Homepage? i believe since the settings changed the Homepage link to, in my case, wap.smart.com.ph and i get that 'tag line errors' and there is no way i can change the homepage address.
