It is a matter of taste. If you like and it works for you then no. As for your "place", it seems only you know where you are.

I`m not really certain yet if it will work fine for me... I`ll be having it in 3 weeks or so...

@Washburn,
Well, I have an iPod, and a media phone (k800i) and I use them both daily without exception. For me they both have their place and usages. I do not think that media phones will ever cut into the market share of devices like iPods. In many cases they will be an augmentation to your current devices. Get your iPod, put on some movies and enjoy.

@sapporobaby
thanks for that...
My P800 is not that ideal for mp3 playing. The battery will drain out easily. That`s one of the reasons why I`m having an ipod.
I`m using a nokia 6230 for the music thingy but it`s not that great...
Got plans in buying a W900 but I already got a handful of phones...

Siding mostly with the phone, I'd say the iPod is pretty but most people don't need one. Phones are not going to compete with the iPod anymore than the smartphone is going to compete with the PC.
But phones will prevail not against the big iPods and so on but they'll eventually get to the Nano though. Most music phones can rival the nano by now, at least with storage, and they can do so much more. If you only bother to carry a couple of GB of music with you everyday then even current phones are good enough, the main point is to get you through the day and most of them can.
As for sound quality, not everyone has the same ears. Some people think Walkman phones sound better than the iPod and there's even a bigger majority that couldn't tell the difference.
If there is a device that has the potential to threaten everything it'll be the UMPC. It has the memory and the power to replace your laptop and to carry half your music collection. Of course UMPC will take a while to mature just like the iPod, and they could just end up being a gimmick but at least they can do almost anything.

Heard something on the news this morning about an iPod which will be able to download Movies via broadband.
Looks like Apple wants to eliminate DVD stores aswell as CD stores
I guess they won't be calling it the iTV without permission from ITV (or according to the Beatles maybe they will).
Source.
