1. N95 feels and looks like a plastic toy. (which non new SE phones does. including (probably) k850i.

2. N95 battery life is a disaster (which k850i isnt)

3. N95 software is a disaster (which k850i probably not will be)

4. N95 have build in gps, but it dosent work properley (have tried the gps a few times, was really really bad). (the gps (if you buy it separate) to k850i will probably work much much better)

5. N95 have cracky sounds when you use the slide (yes, i have test it like i said before). (i havent tried one new SE phone who have cracky sounds)

6. N95 Mp3 player isnt the best i ever tried. (k850i will probably be a lot better)

I had purchased a N80 (My spare phone) Already had a K750 a year or so ago and god what a mistake.

The phone was mega s**t. Slow, crashed, unresponsive infact i hated it I couldnt wait to get rid of it.

I swapped my N80 for a K800i and yes i was back in SE land, Way much better,

I now have the K810i and hopefully will get the K850.

but i did play with the N95 for 15 mins (My friends) 3.30 mins were waiting for the phone to do what it needs to, to go between things (so slow)
1.45 mins of waiting for the phone to switch on after a crash
GPS was a pile of poo. If i stood facing north holding the phone at a 45degree angle it worked after 7 mins of trying and then the phoned crashed so that was another 1 min 45 secs.

My last 2 mins was taking a photo which my mate said look at the photos there fab. so i took same pic with my k810 and showed him what it really does look like. the words were. F**k yours way better.
My words are Oh yes and then th N95 battery died.

And so my story ends.

The K850 though is a different phone and in a different league to nokia N95. The N95 is symbian and the K850 isnt so thats makes a difference to me. But so far I dont like symbian. I also owned a P990 and didnt like symbian on that eirther. Altho it didnt crash as many times as the N80 and N95 did.

Ok it doesnt have some of the things that th N95 and the N95 doesnt have some things that the K850 does but at least i dont have to carry out a charging station for the phone with me.

So the N95 gets 2 stars in my eyes. screen nice, good features (most dont work as they crash the phone), diabolical battery, slow, unresponsive, sending a sms is a slow process.

I cant rate the K850 as ive yet to own and play with one. But i would think in my eyes ill give it a 5 star raiting. But then im a SE fan and like there SE world !!

@plankgatan

Wouldn't it make sense to make those statements about the K850 once it's actually released and you used one? It's no good comparing a phone that's currently on release and is being used by thousands of people worldwide, against a phone that hasn't been released, and hasn't yet been used by members of the public? How can you say that certain aspects of the K850 will "probably be better"? Wouldn't that be like a Nokia fanboy saying the K850 is rubbish, and then categorically stating (as you are) that the next Nokia models will "probably blow the K850 out of the water"?

IMO, what you're doing is just trying to bait the fanboys on Esato, and as you may have noticed in other threads, people are growing tired of this kind of thing. If you have any comparisons that can be susbtantiated (as you had when you posted your K800 photos), then make them on here. Otherwise, please keep your fantasy claims in your head. It would cause less friction on here.

Well somethings you are wright but nonthelless i think you cant find a phone more complete than N95 today. Ok the battery only lasts 1 day but where can you find a small phone with the same features that the battery can last 3 4 days?
SOftware isnt a disaster... its normal for a smartphone and its far better than p990 when he first arrive. You cant compare S60, UIQ with S40 or SEui.
GPS: Even my tomtom sometimes works not too well and i have to wait 2 or 3 minutes to lock on... and its better have GPS than not.
All phones have craky problems... some more, some less. And about the music player... its not the best but its pretty decent.

What i see is that N95 is being treat like crap since k850 was announce and i think its not fair and most of their owners are very satisfied

Geeeeees.. ..

i don't know what to call it:
blindliness? maybe
illitercay? maybe
lack of subtle? maybe
ridicule? sure thing

these are two different phones, flagships of two different companies, each of which has a certain business direction.
this is unbelievable. keep posting the same shit over and over.

Yehs, some points seem biased

BUT

alot of what is said is very true.

Lets face it, we all know the BUILD QUALITY of Nokia phones is poor, and certinly far below that of SE.

It seems the components and plastics which nokia choose to use are cheaper and nastier than that of SE.

To me, it just feel like Nokia are playing to the mass market with all their phones, (not that SE aren't trying to sell S*** loads of phones) but, theres nothing personal about the N95 is there? Its just been chucked together with tons of features that are mediocore....for example the 5mp cam......have you seen some of the photos enlarged....they are terrible quality! I would say the k800 cam produces a far clearer image...Nokia have simply upped the number of pixels.

Anyways that my two peneth.

If you search the forum, you'll find posts about K800i keypads wearing off and splitting, and M600i/W950i stylus problems. nokia isn't alone in using cheap materials.
