ok here's my input on r6a....got it flased today....no worries...took only about 20 min and it went alright.....as it does not require a master reset, all my inherent data, themes, contact etc were preserved.....the 1st thing i did notice is that the menu speed is actually better, i.e., faster over the older versions....so is the sms typing speed...the lag between keypresses and the appearance of the alphabet is still there but its no longer that slow as previously....the other noticeable improvement is that BT is 'more stable', i.e., the phone connects over to the headset (hbh30) faster...i usually haf the headset BT function set to Automatic and there's alwiz a noticable lag when the phone rings and when the call is actually transferred over to the headset....its much faster now...also when i use the headset to answer the call (by pressing on the accept button on the headset)....the voice is transmitted much faster too.....will play around some to see if there are any bugs...so far didn't experience the cons as stated earlier in this thread.....all in, i'm pretty glad i took time off today to get it done.....cheers!!

There is nowhere in my area (South West Wales, UK) according to SE, where I can get my T68i (R2E) upgraded to the lastest revision

Anyone near me know of anywhere? even if it means posting off

Any improvments..?
No, not if you compare R5 and R6A...
Alright it may be a lit bit faster then the previous version, but for a normal user it's not notisably... The only "improvment" that I have noticed so far is that the picturce size name in MCA-20 has changed.. From MMS -> S, S-> M, M-> L, L-> XL...

We don't want these small changes, WE WANT CHOOSABLE SMS-SIGNAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh yeah....didn't add in on the sms alert....no change there...didn't put it in coz this thread is (after all) on improvements only...perhaps the next upgrade will address this issue....

how do your standby times compare to before?
and does it feel more stable overall?

So I assume there's no noticable difference at all from R5D to R6A??

@JwY: Its definitely more stable....however standby time is not affected...

@all: Haf been fiddling with it some and i haf noticed that the t9 dictionary can now accomodate new additions...it couldn't before coz it wuz full but now it can....the earlier user input words are still there and another thing....the words are now placed in terms of priority in usage...e.g., most it list the most frequent used words first....any one with the same observations???

Seems worth it for the prioritizing words in SMS, and that it fixes some bluetooth problems

I have R5A020, is it worth the upgrade??

Thanx
