You can mod the key to point to a local html file of your own design, that's about it. You do that by changing the internet profile home page to point to a locally saved html file.
This is the page I designed for the internet button on my K800:
It's much more useful to me than the crap SE portal or the Optus Zoo portal. And because the file is a html file on my phone, it doesn't spark up a gprs connection everytime I click the internet button by mistake.

You didn't get my point.
I don't want to change the page. I want to replace it. For example there is a patch, when you push the button shortly it works like play/pause button in k750/w800. But it's useless since I use KDPlayer and got CID53... Anyway, I don't have any internet profile at all.
It would be useful to have a shortcut to games then useless key that does nothing.

You can't change the program it points to. It points to the inbuilt web browser, and all you can do is change the home page to something that suits you better.
The patch to change it to play function is imho the only patch currently available for the internet button? Check se-nse if you want to look for more patches.

because the other kind of modding (File system modding) has not yet revealed any way to mod the internet button. The right softkey can be modded, the main menu can be modded, but the left softkey and the internet button cannot be modded via file system hacks.
Myself and many others have searched for ways and found nothing.

did not tried to change anything but the menu icons - instead I managed to unbrand my k800
after almost two years I managed to understand some things but still need a little more help please !
got back one of Vodafone's custom packs and still missing one shortcut so your help will be much apreciated:
the right soft key - normally ends a call - it does nothing now while in stand by but I very much miss it's shortcut:
when pressed it would open the popup menu (toolbar) that containes 4 tabs - 1. vodafone live; 2. new events; 3. running apps; 4. my shortcuts
I know it can be done but untill here I just thought it could be done only by patches - that is a little over my head
can it be done just by editing something and then uploaded into phone ? and how ?
pretty, pretty please !!!
thanks in advance. I know there must be some other ppl out there that could use it ...
