is it just me or is that screen a bit too small for a 3" display?

No one's ever said it's 3 inches.

so it has touch sensitive softkeys and optical dpad (by the looks of it)
Will be interesting to see how easy these can be accidently activated by one's ear or cheek while talking. Personally I prefer buttons with tactile feedback, but I'm willing to wait and see how it works in practice. If the buttons need a firm but not too firm touch to activate I think it will work well.
I love the form factor because it means qwerty kyb AND dpad, about time. (without a bulky flip)

Ummm... Now, that is confusing. Do you actually mean that the P5 something is actually a true successor to P990, with flip and all??? Or is there another flip phone on the horizon?

Popular form factors:
Candybar e.g. K800
Swivel e.g. W900
Slider e.g. W850
Flip e.g. P990
Clamshell e.g. Z610
Please note that flip and slider are not the same thing. There is a certain amount of confusion @Esato due to this apparently not so uncommon mistake.
It's nice to see that at least in this thread people seem to differentiate things properly.
Cheers!
