Well...but this is THE place to watch on this...our russian friends are experimenting stuff and some things are already happening
http://translate.google.com/t[....]e%26showtopic%3D4559%26st%3D40
I wonder if anyone that understands russian can have a look to the original version of the thread and make us a proper report about the situation??
From what i understand, they can change all icons now, skin the media player, etc...and they are really talking about porting the W960 or W950 media player to other UIQ3 phones

Wow this looks pretty interesting!
I wonder if it would be possible to use this to either manually update firmware components for those CDAs that do not yet have R6E28. Alternatively, to install the various language input methods onto World Generic CDA devices.
One useful thing now is for people who like to change their fonts by installing the font files on the M2 or Duo. If you can now install those into the ROM, no more problems with removing the M2 or Duo while the device is in use!

It will be very interesting to see how this evolves. I do have a concern though, I haven't seen any mention on how the P990 FC mode will be effected by this. As much as I would like to have W960 walkman on my P990, it's very doubtful that it will work in FC mode. Perhaps even the RDS module can be fixed.
Let's give it some time, I'm sure the "masters"

will be able to do what SE couldn't manage in 2 years. Interesting times ahead...

Tested and confirmed...i can now read/write in the c:, d: and z: drives, in all the folders that were not accessible before
This opens alot of possibilities: porting walkman player from w960 to p1, profiles apps, changing all the menus and icons, etc, etc
I really want to visit uiqblog.com but itīs impossible to enter the site.
Anyone with same problem?
Have tried it for months!
