The only setting is in the USB connection screen.
BTW, SE support does not recommend USB charging, apparently it's not as effective as charging from the mains.

No, it will only trickle charge via usb due to the lower current delivery - I've found if you try to use the phone whilst charging this way, the net result is virtually nil in terms of battery charging.

Seems the answer is to fiddle with it - a lot.

@AD
Thanks

@Makbil
I am not sure I agree, if it was not advisable to charge via USB even the fools at would not give you the option to do it! I do appreciate it is not as fast as a charger, but this was working fine up to a few days ago.

@ Nitro

Just thought i'd point out that the link that AD posted, is for a p1 and the problem is the fact mains charging will not work, but USB will...

In any case both issues are similar, will look to see if i can find a solution and i'll post to let you know.

Forgive me if this is a silly question, but could it be the usb port you're trying to charge from? I'd try another just to be sure - preferably on different place on your pc, as this would be on a different usb root hub.

@Nitro Fan, it's not actually a matter of being "not advisable", just that USB charging is not as efficient as charging from the mains.
When my previous P990 malfunctioned (battery drain of 10% / hour), the SE support guy told me to use the mains and not USB as it was not considered efficient enough - not that it mattered They replaced my P990 eventually...

@2manydjs, you are aware that Opera mini should not be used for sensitive transactions, right?
For normal operations it's OK but given that other devices now support flash, SE is dismally lagging behind in features.

Opera Mini supports secure pages (https) since version 3.

Q. Is there any end-to-end security between my handset and — for example — paypal.com or my bank?

A. No. If you need full end-to-end encryption, you should use a full Web browser such as Opera Mobile.
