Well, I popped my sim in and it works, just needs to be registered to the network I think (don't think I ever registered it, anyone know how to un-latch a BlackBerry if I have?).
It's never actually been used for any more than a few hours as my phone, as I got it after my 8310 so I had no need for it.

If you have you'll just need to speak to the network to unlatch it!
although if you have used the Curve since with the same account it will have been automatically unlatched!
