go to your computer's properties (done) > hardware (done) > device manager (done) . to the com ports (Ok You got me there.. There are stuff like batteries, bluetooth, computer,disk drive and etc etc) , change the number (Exactly how do you change its number? i dont even know what to press after device manager) o_O

once you are there go to Ports (COM & LPT).

i too got the same problem .... but solved it by first connecting the mobile through cable and then starting the reader .... my com port was 19...

if the reader is started first without connecting the mobile, then i cant even see the port 19.

So i think this might solve ....

while you have it in landscape, do you let the screen to go off?
