Correct. But I fear it will get worse before it get's better.

For me Obama is in a very good situation no matter what happens. You have to remember this economic problem came about becasue of the Republicans administration 8 years in power. This is not the sort of problem that can be sorted out over night. We all have to sit it out and wait for the storm to pass. That could be anything from a year to 2 years and Obama make it perfectly clear it may not even be solved in a term so I dont think the public is under any dissallusion.

It breaks down like this.. If the economy doesnt heal quick enough Obama can carry on blaming it on the Republicans and he will get re-elected.

If he manages to somehow sort it out quicker then he will a hero in the eyes of every US citizen and many outside the US.

By your logic, nobody should ever run in the elections and all candidates should head over to the Bahamas for some fun in the sun.
Obama's gotten this far based on his oratorical display. The real test begins when he's sworn in as the next prez. Bush took the reins when the economy was pretty good and brought it down to the brink of disaster. If Obama can manage to reverse the tide, he'll not just be a president but the people's hero.

Does it really matter if his mother was of African descent or not? People didnt vote for him becasue of his colour so i really dont see why you keep harping onto this detail.

And as for McCain well you really dont make any sense. People are not going to look to him to solve these problems because he is not good enough to solve them. He may well go back to being a senator in Arizona but he WAS running for presidency so something tells me he kind of maybe wanted the job.

Yes thats true. Clinton left him with things pretty rosey and he messed it all up. I think right now Bush has the lowest approval ratings for any president in history. That is quite a thing. lol

Firstly does it matter what colour skin he is. Who gives a crap if he is white, black, mixed race, green..

IMO All this publicity spreading out how he is the first black president is only going to promote more racism, not settle it down. Yes its a great moment in history but he should be judged over the 4 years with his decisions as president. Big deal what colour he is, if we really want to settle down racism (note how im not saying get rid of, as racism will always exist) we have to stop reporting about him being the fist black president. Its old news, we know already.

This is the guy who has the powers to change the world, its time the media report on what his plans are, rather than what race he is. Yes its a step in the right direction and it is a proud moment in history for equal rights, but it does get very annoying. We dont care what colour he is, we want to see how he is going to make changes for the better. It is the media, which are going to promote racism and will do if they dont let it go. It is a very serious issue, and many people are to blind to realise it.
