I just tried it again. And it works now, even indoors. Nice! How do I upload the maps info like you did? Using the screen reader?

Thanks tranced, will do that later. The GPS sensitivity seems to have improved significantly with R3EA037.

After the last reply dated over a month ago I have not heard back from SE anymore, despite my regular emails to check up on my case. It seems they have just closed the case without even looking at the details.

Very disappointing. I have sent yet another email and will open a new case if I continue to be ignored. What about the problem don't they get? It is so simple. Something in the phone is wrong and prevents the camera software from adding the right coordinates. The coordinates og photo's taken are stored in the GPS log so the GPS is obviously working at the time I take a photo but is simply not added to the photo. What a bunch of idiots at the tech department there. I have no other words for this. They're a clueless and incompetent bunch.

They even asked me for examples so I've sent them pictures taken with a C702 that has working geotagging and mine, and explained the differences, even provided screenshots of the EXIF info from both photo's. It seems they did not even bother to check it. What a crock. I will never spend any money on SE phones again, nor will I advise anyone I know to buy one as their service is simply non-existent. I offered to to send my phone so they can check it out themselves which also got ignored.

*sighs*

It works for uploading on esato when your phone ads the GPS EXIF fields yes. I got 2 C702s (one of my friend) with the same issues, they do not add the GPS EXIF fields to the jpg file, instead there are some extra fields that are not in the properly geotagged photo provided by tranced. Something goes wrong when the phone writes the jpg or something, I do not know

The GPS logs does show the coordinates with the same time as the photos the info just isnt addeed. I'll send it to you traced if you wanna try for yourself, I'm just sick of it.

SE support is a farce, 2 C702s with the same issue and SE only tells me to check my settings when I told them repeatedly that the settings are OK, the GPS log has entries, the jpg files just lack the GPS EXIF fields.

When my words fail I can only show you below picture, which I also sent to SE when they requested detailed information.

The same issue with any firmware I tried, I can only conclude it must be the hardware of certain C702 builds. Anyways, I give up on SE, and their support. My next phone will not be an SE for sure, my money stays far away from SE.

Just went to the garden to take a photo, GPS connection was 3 bars, the GPS log has an entry with the exact time I took the picture, and guess what, the photo lacks any GPS EXIF fields. If SE would atleast take me seriously and gave me some support it wouldnt be this bad, but they just ignore me, and did not even bother to read my problem properly and spit out a generic answer at me about settings, ffs.

Sorry for bumping this thread - but did anyone find ans resolution?

I'm experienceing exactly the same issue on my c905. Interestingly though, on an older firmware version it did work correctly. My new firmware has stopped it working, and it just writes the cell info and doesn't bother with the gps in the exif.

I too have tried everything, AGPS on/off, status running minimised or not, 20 mins without moving in an open field etc etc. Still no exif gps info.

I am also having this problem with my c905. About 1 in 20 images gets GPS EXIF data. the rest nada. This incudes when GPS signal is strong. The photo also has the location icon in the phone photo viewer but no gps info when image viewed on a computer or uploaded to flickr.

Bit frustrating
