W902 is certainly underrated. But my vote for most under-rated goes to the K610

All the K6xx models are underrated - K610, K618/V630i especially and K630/V640i most of all.

@NoroBiik
You proved your point. The fact that you have to explain the good points of the T700 demonstrates how underrated it is!

I also find the SE A200 UI is under-rated compared to other brands. The java multi-tasking, shortcut assignments through activity menu and dpad in standby, task switching and general thoughtfulness of UI layout and methods. In my view the SE A200 UI can usually be more compared against smartphones than other feature phones.

A bit off: after years of using SE's UI, I got myself confused when trying to turn on Bluetooth on an outdated Nokia 6275! Very stupid I know lol.

@gtr83
I know exactly what you mean. After 4 years of SE, my son's former Nokia 6234 UI infuriated me and my wife's Samsung Z400v UI is underwhelming but the upgrade from the logical and clever V630i A100 UI to the V640i A200 UI was a revelation! And yet I adapted easily to the only other decent UI I've come across - the iPhone 3G of course.

@carkitter: and that's why I think the whole A200 thing is underrated Like you said, iPhone also has a very enjoyable UI, but it's a smartphone. Heck, these days almost any phone on the ads are smartphones. Which means the real competitor for A200 should be those monochrome ruggedized phones

a underrated phone should of course be cheap. thats one of the points with the whole thing. (you get a cheap phone who is really good, who most people dont even know about and there by dont becomes a big seller)

i dont think w902 is underrated. its to expensive and also it sells quite much around the world. (w902 camera by the way is "overrated", it should perform better then what it does).

can someone tell me some expensive phone(s) who people think is underrated ? (I cant))

Why is "cheap" mandatory again? I don't like the pricing either but if I WASN'T BUYING the phone, would W902 stand out and be rightfuly recognized? By underrated it simply means (from the mainstream idea in this thread of what underrated means as I understand it) nobody knows about the strong suits and uniqueness that's due to the phone. We may know what's different about W902 but the average joe, and even some SE sales people I've come across seem to think it's just another W200 in a different shell. This may be due to the design, for instance the volcano black model is eclipsed in between W980 and W595 from a distance. Why you think the camera is overrated is beyond me since it is basically a C902 with Walkman which offers one of the best 5mp mobile phone cam modules in the market at only 11+mm of thickness. 8GB M2 bundled is also unheard of until now and many have overlooked this fact. "Best Audio Experience" by Germany's TEST factory is definitely not an overrated feat since it beat the hell out of some Nokias with DSP that I've tested. Even the display beats the N96's brilliant 16m colour screen. This is why I bought it anyway despite the pricing but being underrated means regardless of the price tag, it probably won't be a best seller eventhough the winning ingredients have been formulated.

C702. most of us asked for a strong phone to come out, here it is. ok i can agree on the part that its not as strong as the good old phones. and that the specs are only midlevel.
but thats SE mistake.
Still this is is underratted

Multitasking isnt the holy grail of an OS. When people buy a non smart phone the last thing you expect them to do is to multitask. The A200 UI is now pretty old IMO and needs an upgrade. Having used it, and having used the newest samsung interface like the one in U900, I'd prefer the U900 any day simply because its more fun and has a highly customizable interface. Not to mention it looks just far better with neat animations here and there, which again can be customized.
Which smart phone exactly would you compare the A200 with?

"cheap" is mandatory because at top prices every aspect of performance should be expected to be class leading, the W902 is not cheap, certain areas of its performance are bettered by more inexpensive devices from SE (and others).

This is flawed logic.

By this logic the Xperia X1 which is massively expensive should also have a class leading camera but since it has 'only' a 3.2 Mp and not a 8.1 Mp is it then worthless or irrelevant? Of course not.

Some phones are 'Swiss Army knives' ie the N95, N96, N97 and C905. Most are not. Top prices are often the domain of phones with very few features such as the iPhone 2G, most smartphones, the Nokia 8800 and of course the Vertu range.

Price is not a factor for an underrated phone - ratings are purely subjective, prices are absolute. Overrated or Underrated, what matters in this discussion is mass opinion or perception, not price.
