> Bluetooth - do u really use it?

I bougtht a P800 this weekend (
). I figured I'd transfer some contacts from my ol' T68i to the P800 via :bt: It was having none of it: IR worked a treat though!
Have to say, :bt: is my preference for all b/jacking, theme/picture transfer etc.

I have had several SE models T18,T28,T39,T68i and now t610 and I used cable, infrared and Bleutooth and once you used BT you don't want everything else anymore. Quick and easy and fast.

to backup the phone and transfer things to and from the phone. I used IR too but think its a bitch since often the IR port on portables are on the backside and simular so you have to position the phone everytime you want to transfer then hit ok in an aquard posision etc.
is just much more convinient for me.

Bluetooth has a longer range and you don't need to hold the phones together; so if you jog the phone you don't lose the connection. Bluetooth is also great in the car with hands free, or connected with a headset while you just walk around.

Jogging the phone when using IR won't lose the connection right away. You get around 10 seconds to line up the IR ports again before the connection is lost and during this time the pc buzzes to warn you of the lost signal.
Although IR is definitly easier to setup I much prefer
for the conveniences mentioned here already.

I use it with isync and iCal on my Mac. Also with Salling Clicker to remotely control certain things on my computer. Freakin'awesome!

You can browse the phone contents in explorer when connected to pc. You can transfer multple files at one time using windows explorer rather than one by one! Too much hasle!

I used to wondered why anyone who pay $ to buy a BT device. One day, I saw a BT doggle at a shop. It wasn't that expensive, so thought I give it a try. Wow, after using BT, I will never use IR again. It's so easy, your phone can be anywhere (within 10m for most mobiles), you'll be able to sync PC and data on the phone. Sending SMS is so easy and fast. In fact too fast according to some of my friends, they received 2-3 more before they had a chance to reply to my 1st
Just wish T610 has a auto timer to shut off BT after 10minutes, like what they put in for IR...
Get BT. It's worth it! First read through some of the posts in Esato on BT devices before venturing out to get one. Seems like some devices don't work well with certain PC/OS/phone.

I use my Bluetooth daily to remotely control my Carputer's Soundsystem. I get a kick out of telling stupid friends that i am 'dialing' in to my carputer as i drive and telling it what song to play.
