1. dialer not like exisitng SE phones - alphanumeric needed so can do smartsearch........
One thing i loved about W995 (+predecessor phones) was you hit the dialer and could get to peoples numbers so easily without having to scroll down a list. I nicked this text from another site to help expain it - apprently called smartsearch.
.... nice feature called SmartSearch where you can easily find any contact, or telephone number very fast. Simply type in either letters or numbers in standby mode and the phone will generate a list of matches accordingly to your input. So, if you’d want to find me and my name simply was set to be “Michell Bak” in your phone book, simply press 6 (for ‘M’), 4 (for ‘i’), 2 (for ‘c’) and so on. I could also type in 2 (for ‘B’), 2 (for ‘A’) and 5 (for ‘K’) and then my name would pop up on the list again because of my surname. Same thing would happen if I started typing in a telephone number assigned to this contact.
2. I dont mind mini qwerty but its impossible when you type a word with dictionary on and you want to scroll thru all the possible iterations/words - impossible to click on the word to go thru the list - a button is needed you simply press after wrting your word that would let you see the permatations of words from letters pressed.
3. animated background wallpaper... or at least more interesting themes/skins

Need of support of swf files. Don't work for me. And forget about put swf file as a wallpaper.

SmartSearch is something we have defintely lost in Satio. It was a fantastic feature. Now to find a contact takes at least 1-2 mins depending on how many contacts you have.
Also, I am facing disappearance of WiFi signal occasionaly. My home WiFi disappears from the WiFi list one moment when I am starting a new browsing and when researched, again appears. This has been there both with current and previous FWs.

well you pick a skin all the screens dont match, by this i mean the short cuts on the stadby screen at the top.
The Fav contacts, the bookmarks, main menu, photos and shortcuts menu all appear differently - thier is no consistency.
i suppose this will be rectifiable when sony release a skin program?
also here is another inconsistency in the UI when browsing call log you cannnot swipe sideways (like you do on standyby menu) to get from missed > recieved > dialed.
the same is true when in message mends > should be no need to select small bos from above > should be sideway slide motion like standby menu > easy scroll from inbox > sent > outbox > emails etc
and can some please give me the technical reason we cannot have an anmiated wallpaper? is it the software outright? have nokias never had animated wallpaper?

Hello everyone.
I'm quite fortunate in that i've had quite a stable fw for my satio, except these two problems.
1) before and after the rc1a037 fw update, my camera has never worked properly. Basically if i use the xenon flash the screen goes black as normal, but freezes inxtead of generating a preview. Also the camera occassionally flashes once before freezing, but the majority of the time it flashes many times, about 7+ flashes or more. Cannot then use camera unless a battery pull is done.
2) I cant get seus to get to the CONFIRM step. I follow the steps, hold call button whilst plugging in data cable, and thumb gets sore but nothing happens. Took it to tmobile who did the fw update,but i still can't get past that stage. -
Can anyone help? I have taken some photos with flash and have no problems taking photos with flash switched off. Can anyone tell me if this is software related with a fix? Thanks

True, but also on f.e. C702 and probably more GPS-phones (and even more with the screen on when navigating). So for a daytrip you WILL need a couple of spare batteries.

i really think they should work more on the reception stability. Even in R1CA037 (the latest) it´s a bit unstable

ok, before update first bug was: not able to see any icon or stand by theme icon, no mater if l change on sony ericsson,or basic,or navigation tape...there is non on desktop only picture from theme or another....that l have put for wallpaper. So l update the phone and now this is working but new bug is here....l can not make new profile..only l can customize defaults, when l tap "create new" nothing happens...and even then l am not able to change to any of profile...l must get out on stand by and back to profiles and then i can change...but make new....no.
