"Nokia N8 is coming soon. Apparently, the phone will start selling at the end of August in the UK and maybe even sooner in Spain. In the meantime, the Samsung Galaxy S is getting a white paint job.

Who saw that coming? A white color version of the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S! And you thought that a Froyo update would be the only intriguing news involving the Galaxy S that could surface? You'd better think twice. We've just noticed the image of the upcoming device on the website of the Spanish chain store The Phone House.
phonehouse.es

Unfortunately, the photo is too small to get any impression of the phone but according to the company, the device should start selling soon so it is only a matter of time for larger images to appear.

Right next to the white Samsung Galaxy S we found the Nokia N8 (priced at 499 euro, ouch!) which, just like the I9000, will start shipping soon. The last time we heard of the N8 was when it appeared on the Italian website of Nokia for as price of 469 euro. It informed us that the device is about to head for the stores sometime by the end of September but as it turns out now we may see it way sooner.

By the way, Spain isn't the only country that should get the N8 before September. The phone is said to hit it off on 31 August in UK where it will cost even more - 420 GBP (around 505 euro). Double ouch!"

Nokia n8 to hit off in spain and uk too..

I can't wait to get this phone as long as the software isn't laggy and inconsistent.

I was planning to get a 'point and shoot' camera and this is the first real phone that can begin to match the photo quality. I might even be tempted to turn the resolution down to 8 mp to save memory and saving time.

Nokia is still following the old idea that a good camera is what it takes to make a high-end phone. People just don't care anymore. Maybe a number of nokia fans and mobile camera fans will buy the N8, but I think that's it. With so many good smartphones in the market right now, why buy a N8? The hardware is outdated and the OS is doomed. If the company itself isn't betting on the OS as its main solution, why should I? We are already reaching the end of 2010 and nokia still hasn't shown a good touchscreen interface and platform (the N900 is a cool device but it's resistitive, the UI is raw and as a platform is just a niche). They have to do what microsoft is doing, start from scratch and do it all over again.

Well, Lil'bit talk about N8 after yesterday was played with it for while

1.Impressive superbly fast focus locked less than my blink and quick capturing shoot less than 2 secs per shot.

2.Anodize aluminum body really good built and light weight actually it was 135 grams but I felt it light than my SATIO that 126 grams and it was real fine when hold it hand.

body was locked up with knot look easily noticeable though isn't deal breaker but doesn't look nice too

3.Camera UI isn' pretty as SATIO but more adjustable features but bit sluggish maybe I need sometime to get used to
Switching between still image and video capture is really fast less than 10 secs prompt to use

4.Multi-Touch in Symbian is available here but damn it isn't really useful much as others model have it
need lot of optimizing I will not give verdict today until final product launch one month at least

5.Impressive running up to 6-8 programs at same time without lagging noticeable Ovi maps included one of that.
But Overall UI is still unattractive to me anyway less change as s60v5 but home screen have up to 5 page with smooth transition

6.Keyboard has newly revamp too didn't have time to try much because lot of people wait after me

If you want monster of camera and good maps navigator (I did not mean Ovi really!) under 450€ afaik price-tag goes for it.
