Anyway, very boring and disappointing year 2014 is so far. Both the S5 and Z2 are huge disappointments.

@etaab,a larger screen means larger bezels or larger phone?? No. You only need to look at what LG have done with the G2. My G2 has extemley thin bezels with 5.2 inch screen and the phone in no way feels large at all.

Bigger bezels are due to waterproofing, not the bigger screen size.

Please correct me if I am wrong but didn't z1 from Sony and note 3 had the same CPU and gpu just like now z2 and galaxy s5 have the same CPU and gpu ? To me they are both similarly specced

Well yes they are similar Chipsets.
Z1 had 2.2 ghz S800 whereas Note 3 had 2.3 ghz S800.
Z2 has 2.3 ghz S801 with 100mhz faster clocks over Z1 and a slightly higher clocked GPU
Performance difference between both is minimal at best
Note 3 to S5 is a slightly bigger upgrade with a 200mhz faster clock and a higher jump in GPU clock speed too. Here the performance difference seem a little bit greater than Z1 to Z2 as seen by GSMArena benchmarks. But still the difference is hardly much at all.

IS more powerful than the Z2, S5 has a 2.5GHz S801, benchmarks seem to show the S5 to be the new "king", but at the same time, the Galaxy S5 just isn't as mindblowing and powerful as it could've been.
Samsung should've waited for the S805 and launched the GS5 in late April. It's not like Sony and LG will take that much sales. Last year the GS4 launched in late April, and it destroyed the Htc One, Xperia Z and LG Optimus G Pro sales in just one month, Samsung didn't need to rush out the GS5.

The RAM is the main reason why I don't like it. I mean 2GB RAM is enough, the GS4 runs fine with 2GB and always has plenty free, BUT in terms of specs and futureproofing GS5 should have come with 3GB.
So rumors pretty much make this out to be a sort of Galaxy S5 Neo, apparently the "real" Galaxy S5 aka Galaxy S5 Prime with 2K display, 3GB RAM and Exynos 6 will land later this year. Hmmm...
