Just went to the orange shop in covent garden to play with it. personally want it on voda, but my mate wanted one. They said they had already sold ten and still had about ten left. Someone was buying it when I was talking to the sale person. My mate wanted to upgrade but said it would cost him an extra £75 on top to buy the phone. if it dosent come out on voda (just been reading other thread) might have to buy it on orange

To all the people hoping to buy the P800 on a high tariff and change down after a short time:
Orange actually have the 'clawback period' set for 120 days, or 4 months... not 3.
This is quite obvious when purchasing from online shops, as the Terms and Conditions will say something along the lines of.... "The extra discounts are provided on the condition that you will not change to a lower tariff within 120 days from purchase, or we will charge you the cost of our lost commission".
However, I haven't been able to find ANY relevant 'clawback' information in the Orange Shop Terms and conditions. I'm pretty sure that the staff reckon you can change at any time - and don't mention any kind of clawback or 4 months limit....
Maybe you'll get away with it from the (High Steet) Orange Shop.
Maybe you'll get stung for £150!

Come to think of it....
If Orange Shop are charging £299 for an upgrade, and the same for a £25 contract.... and £199 on a £55 contract, this sounds like it's not really a commission-led discount.
Online stores are selling it for £35 with £50 contracts, so are gonna be mad if you try and change down in the first few months. Orange prices are more expensive, so perhaps don't have the 'commission discount' that the online stores do.
PS: I had a go on the P800 at me local Orange Store. It was big and very greasy (all those grubby hands) but very light and very sexy. If only I could trade in my girlfriend!

can somebody who bought orange p800 post here all firmware versions? ... btw in slovak republic they got only 100 ... there was queue of ppl from friday in 1 shop buying p800
and on monday evening i called them and the said only last left!:)

anyone know if orange are running or going to run a special traiff as per spv the£6 a month unlimited interent access for the p800.
know you can use the £4 for wap but is it thye same as wap on the t68i just a bigger sharper image.

What is it that everyone dislikes about Orange. Was previously on Voda but find Orange better. Little orange badge doesn't bother me, they match other networks tariffs.
Also, over the year (when I transfer to lower tariff) I will have paid less than SIM free price for the phone & had benefit of free calls & GPRS

Not true GPRS Access Pack is for WAP use only. Subject to fair use policy of 10MB.

Really doesn't matter if the little orange badge bothers you or not - you can remove it very simply, with no damage to the phone.
