No I was referring to how fast both Sony and HTC phones are (in test they appear faster then S8 plus and I assume Note 8 as it has the same CPU). There was a testing done by anandtech which confirmed that s835 is just as good in certain Instances better than the exynos 8995.
Either way it is not not clear why s835 would not receive 60 fps 4k recording

Tx. My father is using the XZ Premium now, he has such huge hands so using his s8+ became to difficult, the Premium suits him better due to large bezels and no curved screen. I enjoyed the Premium but the Note 8 is the superior device to me.
Really impressed with the Note 8. Some People say it is to similar to the S8+ but the 2 g extra ram, S-Pen and upgraded camera makes it a much better phone imho.

Note 8 is definitely better than s8 plus however it is also more expensive with a smaller battery (larger screen ) and it noticeably thicker (and heavier) so I an not sure about the "much
Glad you're enjoying it though- I am on 2 minds whether to upgrade or not

My Note8 is only coming on Monday
got the courier email to track it a few hours ago.
Aussie
The 835 only supports
4K@30FPS recording, remember the XZ Premium does 960FPS at a resolution of 720P, I believe this is a mix of GPU and the Camera sensor in the XZP.
Honestly I'd be surprised if the Snapdragon Note8 gets
4K@60FPS, but I'd be amazed if Samsung gets it done, maybe the Note8 has a higher BIN Snapdragon 835 than other 835 smartphones? That would explain it as I believe the standard camera in the Note8 is the same as S8+

Here it says it does support 4k @ 60 fps
4K Ultra HD video capture @ 30 fps, up to 4K Ultra HD video playback @ 60 fps, support for H.264 (AVC) and H.265 (HEVC)

Read closer Aussie,
It says
4K@30FPS Capture and only
4K@60FPS Playback. So that means the Snapdragon 835 cannot record
4K@60FPS, yet Samsung say they are bringing this feature, which means it may only be the Exynos that gets it as the Exynos supports
4K@120FPS Capture and Playback.
4K@60FPS Playback has been supported for a long time, I believe since the Exynos 5433 and Snapdragon 805, both found in the Note 4. The debate here is Capture,
4K@60FPS Capture is not even available at the moment until either Samsung release that Note8 update or when Apple release the iPhone 8, it's a race between Apple and Samsung to bring the feature to smartphones 1st, at this rate it may be Apple who do it. I'll check what my Exynos Note8 says after I get it and update it next week.
Capturing high detail is much harder than Playback as all sorts of hardware and software trickery can allow playback, but capturing requires a lot more resources that I don't think the 835 has unless Samsung are getting an updated 835 in the Note8.
