I agree the lighter the better. But I wouldn't put an arbitrary limit at what is acceptable, more features does usually mean more weight. The phone I had for the longest period of time was a Nokia 6150, I used it for almost 2 years, and that weighed 144gm from memory. So I think I'd cope with another 150gm phone.
I would prefer a lighter one, but given that 3G requires not one but 2 cameras to make the most of it, and that battery life is not yet as good as gsm,... I think if I want 3G my wallet will be lighter but my pocket won't.

The NEC606 is not all that big in size or heavy in weight as people have been saying, it looks okay when you close it. It comes with a spare battery and a phone wallet and many more stuff. Its not as wide as the P800. The reason for the delay is that they took the nec phones to re-flash them .

The NEC camera can also only take small photos (300 x 150 or something like that). I just don't see that there is a "worthy" handset yet. As soon as there is, I will switch.

About the quoted prices... I doubt anyone has bought at the full price of £399. If you go on a high user plan, you get the phone at half price. If you go on the pay as you use plan, you can go on the 12 plan which takes £100 off the handset. And if you buy two, you get £50 off each phone.
I agree the nec606 is not that big, but I'd like to see the z1010 out...

contracts are pretty good actually. 1000 x-net minutes would cost £105 on t-mobile, £95 on orange and £75 on o2, while voda do 1100 x-net mins for £124; so 1000 mins for £60 or 2000 mins for £100, plus all the other bits thrown in is pretty good value.
