MsKippen, please post some pictures taken with you cam!

Both nightmode and normal...

Also please take a normal pic in daylight! Would be great to see if the quality has improved!

Thanks!

Best regards, Patrik

WHENEVER your phone has that language confirmation screen, BE CAREFUL. It will ONLY keep the language you choose + the phones native language. That is it.

I have found a way around this. Turn your phone off when it asks for the language. When you reboot, the phone will now retain all the languages that was offered in the menu. Go to the control panel and then to languages to select your prefered language.

Hello guys,

i have upgraded my phone yesterday, and it took 6 hours to do it

Yes i agree with u MarkyMark, but the thing was > when i restarted my phone i choose english! I use my p800 in english... much better but after that i looked in control panel what the languages were but there was only english to choose !!!

I did not do a restore/master reset after the upgrade I look immediately if i could change between languages, i think it is stupid that i cant do that !

Why were the language file gone? Deleted ?

The Link don't do offer any servicing facilities. You can leave the phone at your nearest Carphone Warehouse to be sent to Celestica and upgraded, or, if you have a CPW repair centre near you, they can do it on site.

If you phone the sony ericsson helpdesk on 08705 237237 they will tell you where the nearest service centre is to you to get your phone software upgraded. For anyone interested im gonna take some pics tomorrow outside and inside during the day and at night with various settings so anyone without the new software can see what the nighttime mode is like (EXCELLENT TRUST ME). Im gonna make the page up and post the website address here as a new posting tomorrow night or monday.

Went to get R2D at my SE centre yesterday. They said it nearly completed a couple of times but hung just before the end. I tried it and when I turned the phone on it vibrated briefly, like normal, but nothing else.

so they are keeping the phone until they can sort out the problem.
(Thanks SE!)

Took it this afternoon to R's Electrics in Tottenham High Road.
They updated it in less than 2 hours, no problem. No Charge.

Could you please give me the address of R's Electrics.

Thank you.

Sorry, already got the address.

As of today (29 April) Intec in Barnet, north London, are still flashing R1D and claim this is the latest version! R's Electrics in Tottenham wrongly tell potential upgraders that it costs £15 plus vat to upgrade to R2D. Even if you tell them that it's under warranty, they insist on the charge saying that there is no fault with the phone.

I have spoken with SonyEricsson UK and they confirm there should be NO charge for a software upgrade. They tell me they will now take steps to ensure that R's Electrics do not charge for software upgrades.

Meanwhile, I still have a R1D version, having received my "latest" upgrade back from Intec today! Very frustrating and a complete waste of time taking the phone to them. At least Intec do not charge.

When I went to get my phone upgraded they told me that the newest version was R1F but when I told them that the newest version was on the sonyericsson website they just went on it and downloaded the latest software to put on the phone. If you go somewhere and they dont have the latest version just tell them to log onto the sonyericsson webite (which all registered upgrade centres have access to) and download the newest version. And yo ushould never have to pay for an upgrade as long as the phone is in warranty just phone sony ericsson and complain they usually sort things out quite quickly and effectively.
