I don't have the hardware specs, but I just got to compare a T610 side by side with my T300, and my T300 is faster when going through the menus and selecting items. But this may be because I don't have a theme loaded on my T300. I also have a T68i and the T68i is much faster than the T300 except when returning to the standby screen.

@coreinside: T300 doesn't have Java.

i had a t300 before but now i`m a p800 user and i`m very happy ,no endless discussions about how to hack Sinergenix! I think that developing free t300 software is a waste of time, Sinergenix will never agree with that !

Ò300 and T310 just don't have enough memory fo java, just like a T68i. T610 possibly has 4 mb memory, but I think that the most of it is used by java, so that's why it has only 2 mb memory free. T610 as I know has more powerfull processor than T300/T310/T68i. It seems that it works better in these phones cause they have less graphics in the menus, and no sound when browsing menus. And the firmware for T610 is still not optimized, so in future it will work much faster. I know that it has 16 mhz on a 8 bit processor, so 3d games will not work on it, cause they require 16 bit 32 mhz processor at least.

petrutms - maybe we can hang out for a beer. I live close to you.

I won't abandon the ideea of free games on the T300 ... I will look forward at what the future reserves us.

Until then maybe I will code some T600 / P800 software.

Thank you all for your great support.

Don't feel so bad, Orange SPV is another phone that requires all apps to be certified, and it costs money to get the certification. On the other hand, the Orange certification has been cracked, and it's possible to buy special developer phones without certification requirements.

Even if the certification can be cracked ... we are trying to run a small decent and legal business at http://www.exosyphen.ro

I don't think we will look good if we try to promote illegal software.

At one point I do intend to develop and sell commercial software because I am making a living out of software, but also want to give people some free stuff to enjoy.

I was (and still am) trying to go towards completely free software and accept donations. As long as people would donate us some money, we would be more then glad to offer free software for anyone.

At this point, all I can say is : please suggest a phone for which I can make free games and software and don't need any certification.

Java? Symbian? ... give some ideeas and a wishlist people

2exosyphen:

Is there an emulator for T300 games? If yes can you give a link for it?

exosyphen:

Develop software for T610 (java). Then, You can reuse the code and modify it a bit so it will work on other phones too (java). In that way you have an application for many phones..

Java ME is the way to go. Otherwise either settle for for free games provided by SE (which simply act as an eyecatcher to lure mobile users into buying the T300), or pay the few bucks.

Yup - go with J2ME - look on www.ericsson.com - under the developer section there are loads of white papers on Java games, handset compatabilty, conversion from nokia series games etc etc. - Forget Mophun as SE will soon will & go java all the way.
