How can you be sure of that??? I never heard about that compability....
You can run software from the P800 on the p900 (sometines with problems!! sound, grafic,... are some not perfect or completly wrong!!!), but i never heard (logic in fact) about software who is made for the P900 that run on a P800....

How can he know? loll
There is not ONE application that is made only for the P900, all we have know are software from the P800 who are compatible with the P900...
And that is not even all of them... a lot of software (games for example) gives allready a lot of problems.

Ok, let's wait until someone has tried the Communicorder on his P800. Then we'll see...

Guys... There is a little problem here.
The CommuniCorder program resides on the Z: drive of the P900. Such programs are compiled differently for XIP (execution in place, i. e. in ROM, not RAM). So the CommuniCorder will not be possible to run from the C: drive of the P800, due to XIP binary incompatibility (nothing to do with UIQ versions or hardware differences).
Test for yourself. Copy Calc.app (and the other Calculator files) from the Z: drive of the P800 to the C: drive of the same machine, then try to run Calc.app. No way. And hats off to the hacker who will overcome a different compilation...
The CamCorder was a completely different (easy) case, just a matter of installation.
Only SE could solve the problem by including CommuniCorder in a new P800 firmware upgrade.

@zol
We know that, but sweet heart ist trying to make a *.sis-file out of it!

:-) Yes, a .sis installation file is easy to make from any files, including incompatible ones - I'm talking about what happens when you try to execute the contents after installation.

@zol
You think just like me... it's a part of the firmware and will have to stay has a part of the firmware.
Making a runable software (.sis with the new API incorporated) of it will change nothing, it will have to be integrated in the firmware, and only SE can do that.
@benz
Making a .sis is not that difficult, you just need de SDK that is free to download on the SE site. But like zol said, i think it will have to be integrated in the firmware....
We also will have to see if the video API of the P900 is compatible with the P800
In fact, talking about it is stupid, we will have to wait...
Just the same useless discussion as in the time with the MS Duo Pro. Everybody has is idea and could prove it was (wasn't) possible to use it on a P800... seems finally that even the P900 can't support it ! lolll

I'm sure that sweetheart can make a valid .sis file,it's a matter of time,i hope that someone will send the files he need!

Yes, the .sis file will be absolutely valid. Unfortunately, it will install the CommuniCorder on the C: or D: drive. However, CommuniCorder.app is from the Z: drive, and can only run from the that only drive, because it was compiled (=generated) for that place. This you can test immediately, by executing any Z: drive-originated .app file from the C: or D: drive.
A .sis file can not install its contents to the Z: drive - that's called a firmware flash.
