I was thinking about the alarm in silent mode that it wont vibrate.
Is it like on a pc when you mute the sound the soundfiles are still played you just dont hear them cause you muted the speaker.
If so then if the phone supports custome alarmsignals then one could
make an .imy with VIBRAON command (not sure that command is actually correct but know you can add control vibrations in an .imy).
Since I don't have either a P800 or P900 I don't know if this idea
is worth anything just figured it won't hurt to share it with you.

Do you have such a file, or can you point me to one I could try on my P800?

Non of the above actually.
Let's just say my job has the most unexpected challenges some times.

@mmsman
Video on the prototype was still a wee bit "stacato". It did have a lot clearer picture and was smoother than on te P800 thoug.

Battery: that I don't know.

@d_a_r_k_n_e_z_z
The handset I had was made in France.

@jamatjam
I was just trying to help all of you sitting there wondering: "Can it do that?" and I would try it out for them.
Sorry if that does'nt please you.

@masseur
Than you. I'll take that as a compliment.

@fijbert
I never tried the differnt languages out. The P900 I had had French and English.

@lazarini
Never got to try that. Sorry.

@anish
1: Yes
2: Yes
3: No.

@Aggamemnon
Was never really too bothered giong that deep in to it.
I'll leave that as well to Laffen.

@guardianangel
You're welcome.

After having had the P900 on trial for nearly two full days I gotta tell you all my oppinion of the unit:
I think it is one crackin' piece of kit!
I cant wait to put my "old fashion" P800 in the in the drawer and start using the P900. Yes, thats what it felt like after handing it over to Laffen last night; to me the P800 feels outdated now.
I miss "my" P900!!!

The CD in the prototype box had hardly anything on it.
It was called A123 for P810.

Great, P900 can record phone conversations and it don't let the other person on the phone hear your callwaiting beep , I am seriously thinking of upgrading my p800 now.

I added controlcodes in that one to toggle on/off for
display/vibrate and leds (even makes the led on the T610 blink).
If you can use it as alarm signal then you see if it will still run
the controlcodes ie. make the phone blink and vibrate when in mute.
Good luck.

dw,

Alas, it didn't work. There were some brief stutters during playback, which I expect is where you inserted the vibrate commands. I don't have the latest P800 firmware (and I haven't gotten my P900 yet) so I'll try it again when I'm more up to date.

I'm surprised this isn't a bigger issue for people. I use the calendar alot (iSync with my Mac calendar) and it really annoys me when I turn the phone to silent, only to notice a few hours later that an alarm went off hours before.

i couln't help finding some of the questions in this thread a little funny, common sense and past reviews would have answered the question.

oh, if the dude was handing the phone the next day to the other dude, then how would he be able to see if the battery extends two days or not on average.

The "first dude" did comment on the battrey usage.
I'm quite sure the "next dude" will be trying that out.
