How Freudian of you. I would think rather that it is our pack mentality, which dominates. We seek to be accepted by the pack and to be glorified by the pack, therefore we choose symbols, which will show our status and power to the pack.

Actually I seem to like the idea of being a physical phallic symbol :-)

@scotsboyuk:
I agree we are pack animals by nature, but it is this very pack mentality that results in the importance of the id to be recognized, expressed as an ego. Therefore the P900 is a physical manifestation of our large phallus, which leads to a large ego, which is the result of a strong, self-assured Alpha id, unlike Nokia owners who prefer to be the Gamma of a pack.

Interesting theory, however I disagree. By displaying prominet devices like a P900 we are trying to fit into the pack more closely, by displaying welath and status symbols we are saying that we are normal members of society and a such should betreated with respect.
A Nokia owner is trying to be the Alpha of the pack through displaying a brand, which he believes (wrongly) to assert his power. The chap displaying the SE device is asserting his authority within the pack in a much more subtle manner.
What we can take from this analysis is quite simple; Nokia owners have a desire to display a symbol of their power and virility, a phallic image if you will. On the other hand SE owners are more content to remain in the background, confident in the knowledge that they do not need to display such obvious symbols of power, because they know that they are already the pack leaders.

Hahahaha! Where the hell is Sellis1?? He starts everybody talking and now he's gone... this is really funny! What a moron!!!
Anyway, the screen of the T610 and the P900 is NOT the same. Same amount of colours, yes, but thats about it. The T610, although having 65k colours, is still a STN screen which totally sucks in sunlight. On the other hand, the P900 screen is a TFT one which is miles apart from the STN screen in terms of quality but of course more expensive. So, there you go. The screen of the P900 will NEVER be as bad as the T610's screen.
In any event, I think we all should stop posting in this thread as all the stuff that have been talked about so far can be found in the other threads. This sounds hypocrtical of me seeing that I am posting here now but I have to post here in order to say that we should stop! Haha! More threads just means more searches to go through which equals a sheer waste of time. More threads also means waste of server space and more difficult for moderators to moderate things!

Certainly... So why are some posts in this thread about P900 being the only real thing, and even P800 is to be neglected? One might conclude those guys wanna be the leaders of the leaders. In summary, it seems the leaders of the leaders of the leaders is a... phone - currently P900. Is it possible to achieve leadership by having the money and intention to own a phone? (Any phone...)

What's all this fight?
I see P900 owners are very proud of their phones but they have to remember to respect their phones' predecessor (P800). If it weren't for the P800 (which eventually looked like it was released to test the market) the the improvements made on the P900 wouldn't be around.
If it weren't for the support software developers gave in providing apps for the P800, the P900 wouldn't be as popular.
There's really nothing to fight about. The guy's just jealous... give him a break.

Your right, it basically comes to down to the fact that Sellis is jealous (wheeee that rhymes:)) and he feels resentment towards the other members of the community who have a P900.
The pack mentality (I started this psychobabble as a laugh) is a valid description. P800/900 owners display their phones as a symbol of power, but they do so amongst peers here, thus saying that they too are members of the pack. Since most people in this thread have a P800/900 one can't claim leadership through simply owning a P800/900. Thus we have the pack mentality, which percludes leadership a slong as we define the pack as being amongst the SE community. In the wider world we are the elite, but within Esato we are members of a controlled anarchy.
Now after that load crap please can we stop, I fear I will start getting really analytical in a moment
