Perhaps their point was that --
Ellie has been portayed in the media as being the person who invented bluejacking. But wait -
On her website it does mention esato and ajack and she makes it quite clear it was he who invented it - she always has. She also told the reporters that. But the media would prefer to have a "personality" to present to the masses, innit. They've taken her on board as the face of bluejacking and pinned the credit for it on her because that's what the media do. A thirteen year old girl who is mischievious (their word) and bright is a good face to put into articles to sell papers, it's appealing. People who have kids buy papers. People who are interested in the state of "yoot" today buy papers. The point to us about bluejacking may be the technology side of it but the media have presented it as a teen craze because that's more appealing than thirtsomethings doing it. You see the logic there ? So they have to have a teen face to put to it, and that means implying that she invented it - despite her denying that.
I did my few years of fame and fortune and misrepresentation is the name of the media game - they'll package you how they want to, despite what you might actually say to them. It doesn't matter if you're Tom Cruise or Jane Doe - their aim is to make the news appealing, so they bend it (if not totally break it sometimes) into the form that best does that.
Nowhere has she said she invented it - but the media have pinned it on her anyway. So - as the previous poster said, you can't always believe what you read in papers.
I believe *that's* what they were trying to say. If not, I think it's a fair point anyway.
As for bluejacking becoming more popular therefore less likely to suceed, well - swings and roundabouts in my experience. Some people turn their phones on to discoverable as a result of hearing about it, hoping to get jacked, some turn 'em off. Some we gain, some we lose.
If it hadn't been Ellie who had made a webpage about it, it would have been someone else. I don't begrudge her her fifteen minutes for thinking of the website idea before anyone else, and I think to do so - for whatever reason - would be pretty harsh. I sort of feel sad that it isn't "our little secret" anymore - but I also think that the media exposure means that someone is less likely to use it to do something nasty to someone else and get shopped for that (see my exhaustive post about UK law and telecommunications, misuse of, elsewhere - if you fancy looking it up) - which can only be a good thing IMO. Mainly because if not, the first publicity bluejacking might have recieved would have been bad publicity. And then we'd have looked like potential criminals as opposed to jokers.
If any of that makes any sense.
Not trying to fan the flames - just pointing out a couple of things people might not have considered.

@switchbitch,im totally behind u on this one ;-) like i said b4,jelly should have Ajacks name up in lights on her site! And btw,my 13yr old daughter has read some of these threads and has concluded that jelly (with her new phones and laptop) is a spoilt little bitch who has stabbed Ajack in the back on this! I tend to agree. @Ajack,u da man!

Started something now haven't i? Basically no one on the report said anything like what the person at the start of this thread said. The media have done what they usually do, and i should know.
