I started out with Nokia, an 8210, but soon spotted a wee chappy called the Sony CMD-Z7 and after that i was hooked, and since they merged with ericsson the quality of the products is just getting better and better, a guy at my work got a new samsung, played about with it for about 20 mins then took it back and got a SE! Says it all really, i suppose.

I have owned 11 phones. The makes have been Ericsson, Siemens, Samsung and SonyEricsson. Nokia I don't like. This time I chose SonyEricsson after comparing it with lots of other makes on the market. This one is my everyday phone. Siemens SX1 I use when I need memorycard. My next one will propably be S700. Depend on if I like it. I have to hold a real phone in my hands before my decision. I always buy sim-free phones and use them with prepaid simcards. That suits me now. In the future one never knows.

I've had 3 phones so far, and two of them were Sonys. The first one was a Bosch! Whatever happened to them?

Anyway, my first Sony was bought because it was cheap. Tandy were selling Sony CD5s on Orange PAYG for Ģ29.99 (this was before the networks stopped subsidising PAYG phones in the UK) and it was so small compared to the Nokias. Also it had the jog wheel, which made it incredibly fast to text with and confused the hell out of anyone who tried to do sneak a look at what was on my phone.

The second one was a J5e, which I bought mainly for the jog wheel, and but I also liked it's size and weight. The recordable ringtones were cool, but I was always jealous of the nokias and their downloadable ringtones. It even survived from a swim in a puddle, which I don't think any nokia could do!

Now I've ordered a T610. It was a close thing, although the Nokias weren't even being considered (who designs those things? they're horrible!) but it was between the Sony, a Sagem myX-7 (too ugly, but great features), a Motorola 365 (not much for your money), and a Siemens C65 (didn't know enough about it). The Sony won because of my good experiences, although I think the current SE phones are more Ericsson than Sony. Where's the jog wheel?! :'( Luckily I always like the Ericsson phones, too!

Actually back in the 90:s I think the phones were generally better than today, regardless of manufacture.. That is Nokia, Siemens and Ericsson. Motorola with their menu system from hell have never appealed to me
I think Nokia was definetly on par with Ericsson up to *2** series after which the drastic decay began.. tons of new models flooding the market, and as stated earlier, imposible to get ALL the features you wanted in ONE phone
Thatīs when I more or less narrowed down to Siemens and SE-/// but to this day the 2110i and 6210 still rank among the best phones i have owned!
Today, Nokia for me means creaky plastic phones with appaling displays and crippled functions.. sad but true.. Well, my brother has a 6600 and i think I could live with one of those, but i donīt particularly like it looks-wise and it is a bit slow in handling too. 6230 is another possible candidate, but I canīt understand why they put a mini-display on it, also wonder if they really couldnīt have found a more stupid place for the memory card than under the battery??!
Bottom line: SE for me is the most complete phone! *though i WILL put the Siemens S65 under the looking glass when it hits the market
Cheers!

I have to admit I chose my T610 down to the features and the looks it had but I would have never risked it if it had still been ///. Knowing Sony had something to do with it made my mind up in the end. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying /// were crap but I would never have brought one as excluding the T68 they were (in my tastes) pig ugly until Sony came in.

But as I'm going to upgrade to a k700 later on the factor which is making me stay with Sony Ericsson is the range of features and the fact that they are the only phone with decent Bluetooth and of course the looks of the k700.
