What section/page of the manual is this on? I'm really not happy with the lack of shortcuts, unnecessary duplication of camera buttons, and inability to add pauses into stored numbers.

Anyone got info on this re-flashing option?

I checked the manual last night and about half way thru there was a bit on customising your phone and mentions going to - ActionButton\Settings\Shortcuts to modify the joystick shortcuts.
At work now so will post the page number when i get home tonite, unless someone has the manual in PDF and post a link to see it for ourselves?

This does not ring true; and I would be horrified to hear Orange had removed this feature. Please let me know if this turns out to be true; it will stop me getting it from Orange.
From the K700 manual on the Orange web site... (this is the Orange branded manual since it mentions Orange all the way through!)]
Quote:
set shortcuts to quickly access your
favourite features
To edit a shortcut:
1 Press the Action key and select Settings.
2 Scroll to Shortcuts and press Select.
3 Select one of the scroll options and press Edit.
4 Select one of the main menus and pr
ess Shortcut.
To use a keypad shortcut:
1 Press the Action key to enter the main menu.
2 Enter the number of the menu which you want to go
to. For example, press 5 to open your Messages
menu or 8 to open your Address Book. To reach the
tenth, eleventh and twelfth menus, press *, 0 and #
respectively.
I dont have the phone in front of me to try this (obviously!) - does this cover the shortcuts completely or is there functionality missing?
be true; it will stop me getting it from Orange.

Can anyone actually confirm Orange have disabled the shortcuts, or is it just speculation?

Thanks for the post 'a'.
That is the text from the manual for sure. The phone does not have an option for 'Shortcuts' on the settings menu.
Also a question for non-orange K700 users:
on the desktop the button above the 'C' button goes to Camera, but is labelled 'More' on non-orange K700s. Does pressing this bring up a menu which has 'Status' on it (like on the T68 and P800)?
Selecting Status would tell me battery life, GPRS info, and the time of the next Alarm. If this is the case for non-orange fones, anyone know how to get to this info for the Orange fones?

Firstly, thanks for the info in the instructions for shortcuts. I'll need that if I go for a 14 day replacement/reflash or something from CPW.
The way to get into the Status info is to press one of the volume buttons on the side of the phone. No power info showing on mine though like it did on my T68.
The 'More' option should presumably be as it is on the generic T630, showing quick links to bluetooth on/off, keylock, IR etc.
(btw - For the 'Soft Key' problem (RH showing 'Camera' not 'More') see page 15 of the Orange manual. For the Shortcuts problem above, see page 106)
Anyone gets a solution to this Orange screw up, please let me/us know asap! Cheers!

i went into the orange shop today and asked about renewing my contract (everday50 (yeh i know they're trying to phase it out cos it's so good!) and was told that i'd have to pay £149ish pounds for a K700 and also that even though i had a phone to trade in they wouldn't take that off the price of my phone, they'd only credit my bill with that amount

i'm not happy...
Soooo does anyone know if/when orange will be bringing down the price of this phone?

Excellent! Cheers mate!
One other thing though. On all previous Ericssons I've had the vouice dialing allowed you to record a 'Home', 'Mobile', Work' tag etc. Can't see this on the 700. Do you have to record indivitual tags for every number???

considering it's 2 clicks to get to your camera (action-4), it's a completelly pointless customisation.
