The only problem with this thread is it should have finished 3 pages ago!

So, we have now learnt that we all think a variety of things about - what an amazing discovery into human nature!

Phone "upgrades" move at the pace of the technology - clearly nobody is expected to buy a T68 and T68i, a T300 and T310, a T610 and a T630....Nokia 7210/6610/6100/7250/6610i, Motorola V60/V66/V300/V500/V600/V80....and so it goes on. But, as slight upgrades in memory/software/screen pixels etc become available, they are made available to the public as a slightly different model, to provide the people who didn't buy that for that one slight difference, the opportunity to get what they want. If it wasn't profitable, they wouldn't do it. We're all bigs boy and girls and can surely make up our own minds (with the help of others, hence the point of this forum ) which upgrades are worth buying and which are not - we can't claim a lack of choice, and prices are, buy and large consistent across the industry. I would pay the very slight premium for an because they have convinced me, with products of theirs that I have previously purchased, that they make quality mobiles, and I see nothing from a design or software point of view that makes me want to buy another manufacturer.

You can't blame the manufacturers for a strategy that is making them money (their job) unless the product is inadequate. I think the existence of this forum and the majority of opinions contained on it are proof that that is not the case!

well said. i agree with the fact that repackage model (upgrade with slight modification) is to extend the life of popular model. As long as there r people who are interested to buy, that's reason enough.

And to be fair this argument should apply to all manufacturers and not just SE.

Most of the phones r upgrades of others,i agree.SE does what everybody did in the last 2-3 years. For that,i won't buy the k700 cuz i have a t610 and for me it's alm ost the same.I will get a p900 or a z1010 and if i dont find one at a good price,i will look to see what the competition has. Hey guys I think SE is not boring because if they do, they wont bother to realese models for whatever reasons or inspirations they have. But instead let's just take a look at the efforts they do just to survive and serve us. This message was posted from a T230

SE releases phones only once in a while and too of good quality with extra features from the previous model.

Take blokia - The dumb guys there release a new model every month ! Its like you buy the best model you think there is and the very next month they release a better model !

Also differences bet the models are minor, eg- blokia 1100 and blokia 1108 have only a display color change, the former being green and the latter white.

Here we go again

Listen up guys, this is just the fact, SE makes people more anticipating to their phones, coz they include MAJOR changes, not MINOR changes, we are talking about high-end phones, so no one can tell me T610--->T630 etc. bla bla bla.

This is the fact they will continue releasing new phones to extend their market share

And when they release less phones (even if they are variations), you flame them!!
Anywayz, SE is not as boring as Nokia

Comeon guys WTF?!

the P900 to P910 can also be considered a major change, huh?

i think many were very disappointed with this P900->P910. u can anticipate all u want but whether u hv satisfaction after all the anticipation is another matter.

the thing is that the P910 is not a phone made for current P900 owners. It is made for those who DIDN'T buy a P900 back in the day. Obviously.

Who cares if it's opnly a slight modification. It's a modification and one that will attract users as well. period.
