Exactly, thankyou Boba!

EDIT: but i do understand whizzkid, you said it your self that india is focused on the cheaper phones, which is why you dont mind plenty of low end phone choice, but for a lot of countries, and probably the majority, we need development in the more expensive phone categories!

Not true. Porsche has a production plan that they follow to the letter. They do not deviate it, for the reasons that I mentioned. If you want a Porsche and it is not available, you simply wait until the following year to get your car. Porsche is pre-ordered out for almost two years.

@Vanquish,

Exactly. I live in Germany, Finland and currently Kuwait. These are all mature markets, and the higher end phones are selling like hot-cakes. These markets demand more innovation and SE is delivering it (well, most of the time).

@Future,

You are not listening dude. There is a higher demand but Porsche said no. They are profitable without having to increase production, and diluting their brand. This is smart in my opinion.

@all, i never said SE should concentrate on the low end market at the cost of ignoring the high end. And i don't think SE is promoting itself as a premium, quality focussed brand here. Here, the general perception is- Whats good, sells. Here Nokia sells, and people think it sells 'cause its got quality! The same cannot be said of SE! This message was posted from a T230

@bobafett - It is a common knowledge that Nokia covers most of the mobile-pie's share in the Asian region . . . for the past 5 years or so I guess . . . lacks some marketing strategy in our region, and I guess so goes with the rest of the world in whole! As I've been an AVID - CNN and BBC viewer since time immemorial (park), I always see that Nokia sponsors majority of the show's - segments! Alas, during the past weeks, I was elated and awed to see that manage to sponsor one of CNN's segments, an S700i was made feature, I guess Nokia back out of the usual where they normally sponsor that part of the program . . . BBC's - Click online is sometimes being sponsored by Nokia as well, but not as determined (sponsorship) with that of Nokia in CNN ! In a nutshell, despite a definite negative sales report on Nokia this year, they manage 'still' - perpetually, to GET the biggest 'space' in the mobile-pie-share!

@future design - Marketing matters a lot when trying to sell a product. When @masseur made a 'review' with the K700i back then, I was (honestly) ONE of the members who was awed with his report , as I seldom buy brand new units, with it, I manage to get me one. I was just disappointed with the battery life after having used it for 2 months I guess, so in the classified ads it went ! Now, that is marketing strategy - at it's BEST . . .

. . . and now were talkin' 'bout luxury cars here how 'bout Aston Martins, Bentleys and Jaguars
