The main thing bothering me in my k700 right now is when you have more than 1 number per name, caller ID would only work if the person called from their default number! I am using R2AE033. Is this issue bothering anyone else?

Yes then this firmware version should fix the issues that u have rite now since the first version is unstable and problematic.

I don't have any issues when using R2AE033, so try to do a "setting reset". If it doesn't help then back up all stuff from the phone and do a "master reset".

PS: PPL should do "setting reset" after each firmware update

iv bin using the the new firmware for a while now and iv noticed huge improvments on this new firmware R2AL029

here are the following Obvius differences:
- faster overall system operation
- better reception/voice quality
- faster java
- slightly better camera picture quality
- time and date font and color seem to change slightly
- faster transfer using infrared/cable
- NO camera sound on BOTH camera and camcorder mode
- increase in battery life on standby and usage
- SOS numbers now include 999 and 08 (problem on erlier version)

features that i like the most are

- blutooth transfer speeds increased
- use AMR sound with caller id , alarm signal and as Ringtones
- media player now supports apple MP4 format
- MP4 format can NOW also be used to add to contact, alarm signal and as Ringtone.

( MP4 Format much better compared to MP3 format as the filesize can be reduced dramatically to a much lower filesize
eg 5mb mp3 can be compressed to 2mb still retaining
crystal clear sound quality )

/.../ so u mean that the shadow now is so light that u can barely see it rite? Same on mine but it's no big deal i think (cuz i don't use the profile function hehe).

Thanks! I honestly think there is some fault about that matter though. It doesn't look like it was meant to be this way. This is pretty clear if you use a theme with dark backgrounds in dialogs. The lighter color of the shadow for icons is very strange looking for those themes, and I think something is wrong... let's see if it ever gets on SEUS/service centers before they release a new [corrected] version.

@ 666-999 : wow MP4 as ring tone? I hope they will use the same update to S700. R3K still wont allow you to use MP4 as a ring tone.

Hi. I have a Sim-Free k700i which i use with an O2 Online Pay As You Go simcard. I experience the O2 sms bug (where txt messages often arrive extremely late) and was wondering if i upgrade my firmware from R2AE033 to the new O2 specific R2AN001, will my phone then have stupid O2 customisation, and if so, whats included in this customisation? Icons etc? The only reason why i want to change my firmware is because the new O2 specific R2AN001 fixes the sms txt messaging bug. And does anyone know if the new Sony Ericsson generic firmware R2AL001 also fixes the O2 SMS bug, obviously i'd prefer this one.

Any ideas?

Farook
