All MP3 players take up huge amounts of battery. Its just how it goes. I am gonna wait and see if the developer's promises come true, if they do, I am buying this app.

Hi,
it's quite true, PowerMP3 does seem to suck the battery life more than the default Music Player, especially when I tried switching to different EQ presets... However what I also realised is that if I tried multitasking while PowerMP3 is playing back any music, there is virtually no "pop" sound being heard as compared to the default Music Player. This is especially true if I start an app which has not been started before. Thus I believe PowerMP3 does assign itself pretty high in the priority list (if not the top priority) when it is being utilised, and this may be causing it to suck more battery life than the rest.
Cheers

ok, just got that adapter that I mentioned earlier and tried out my P910 with both of my favorite pairs of headphones. What I have decided, is that UnrealPlayer sounds better by default than PowerMP3. But with the EQ PowerMP3 can be made to sound much better. Watch out though, because like most other people state, most of the EQ presets sound pretty aweful. I found that *soft* sounded best to begin with, so I played with that one a little bit until it sounded like what I wanted.
This app is very similar to UnrealPlayer, so if it were easier to get good sound out of the EQ this would be a killer app.
EDIT: I also just noticed that UnrealPlayer seems to take up around 244k-248k according to SMan, while PowerMP3 takes around 428k. Thats a big difference. PowerMP3 could use a little streamlining.

but the difference @ram can be because of equaliser, the phone uses much more battery and ram to modify the music file!...

seems like that is the best explanation, but if the developer addresses all these issues I think it will be amazing. Until then I am sticking with UnrealPlayer.

IMHO UnrealPlayer is of all the players I tried, the one with best sound.
