You can believe the moon is made of cheese for all I care, your beliefs are your own, as is the case with each of us. I do not think that this is an appropriate thread to air those views though. If one didn't like the Pope or if one has no interest in religion then one should either not say anything or make their views known in a seperate thread, it is simple politeness.

As I said previously, I am not a Christian, but I can still show respect to a man who gave of himself for others.

Incidentally, Buddhism is not so much a religion as a way of life.

Yeah, I know about Buddhism, along with the other major religions, as I am now at an international school, and in my year there are a few Muslims, 3-4 Christians, 2 Buddhists, 2 Jews, and a couple of atheists. Im pretty lucky really, as I am spared from the misconceptions that others so quickly adopt as true...

But I agree, this thread is not so much about whether you are religious, or if so which is your faith. It is about a great man who died, and if you don't agree with us when we say he was great, don't post! Simple as that.

Edit: Darnit, I just realised where the mistake was. Its my fault, until the other day I thought "condone" meant to "condemn" but in a lighter sense. I now realise that what I said about was that I don't excuse people for having religions. Whoops. Simple language mistake, sorry.

I made this thread, and I am not a religious person eather, but he was a great, loved by many, important man in many peoples lives and it is always a sad thing when someone great like this passes away.

so now... as @Krubach said... if you want to start a new thread, and have a flame war in there, go for it... but this is to show your respects
