heh, im also eagerly waiting for the next firmware too. the last one makes me feel like its "almost there". after a debrand and update, mine crashed only twice. thinking ive installed some unstable app, ive formatted, reset and updated just for the heck of it. installed just smp, few games, and one theme. since then, no crashes so far for 2 weeks.

my speculation is that before the last 2 firmwares, devs were in panic mode. they released firmware after firmware until it got to an "acceptable level". the last one made the phone "somewhat stable", and now they have breathing room to take their time to make the next one right.

but hey, thats just speculation....

Hi all P990i owners!

I have latest firmware and only preinstalled applications in my unbranded P990i, but memory available is only 8.6MB though all applications are closed by using task manager. Is the memory leakage problem still serious? Thanks.

I've recently debranded mine and it's a lot more stable. Mine has now been up and running for about 2 days... 1d 23h 14m 32s to be exact about it. And I currently have 9.8MB RAM free (15%) and it's ploughing through the menu's much faster than it did before with Orange FW.

I do have other apps on it, Tomtom, LCG JUKEBOX, a couple of themes etc but I've just killed all running tasks via Swiss Mgr Pro (oh I have that installed as well).

I'd say, reboot and see how much you have spare - oh and get yourself a copy of SMP, it's the dogs for keeping your P990 running how it should be...

hi, greetings from peru, this is my first post here. i have the next problems after installing the last fw:
-reboots (less than the previous fw but still there)
-i think is a little faster but i installed also smp and tweak peaks so maybe the are helping but always have ram trouble, running ultra im plus if i run the browser, sometimes it (browser) closes, the same if am running agile messenger.
-the opera browser seems not to support windows live mail, but in my beloved P910 y can open it like on a pc. the opera only opens the msn but wap, the msn mobile. the other web pages, not a problem, just the hotmail.
-the camera of the agile messenger doesnt work, i cant capture.
-the sms come and go showing a different hour than the real one, the show crazy hours.
- i cant configure the mms service.
- the icon of the task manager never works.
- sometimes the smp fails and can close it or i cant switch to it.
- at the media player, if you are playing music and you set the shuffle option, i doesnt works, you have to restart the player and set it before you press play.
- i have a 1G memory full of mp3 and i like to use them as personal ringtones too, but after setting 3 or 4 of the songs to my friends, i receive the message -not enough memory-, i hate it, even if before it y made 2 level 3 memory reclaims and i have full ram (like 13 or 14 Mb).

well, is all i remember but i am a little dissapointed because i spent a lot of money and this little pal cant do things that my p910 can. thanks. bye
