It's true that some places disable "b" and allow only "g" wi-fi on their modems. The reason is, as soon as any "b" device is connected the whole network downgrades to "b" so no one can take advantage of "g" anymore.
In Turkey, Edge is widely available, unfortunately SE chooses to neglect this protocol.
The edge is between 2.5G and 3G, so most of the operators as I know updates directly to 3G/3.5G.. Maybe thats the reason SE don't have many models with edge support.. Guess so
Lol, in turkey has no 3g?? Here, in Bulgaria we have 98% coverage csd/gprs/edge from 2 of 3 operators (the rist one has extra umts/hsdpa in most of the bigger cities/towns+ umts from the second operator again in bigger towns/cities) + the third operator third has csd/gprs 98% coveragre+soon ago directed updated to umts/hsdpa again in the bigger cities/towns (the operator is So it will be strange if in Turkey has no 3G/3.5G
P.s for me the lacks of hsdpa in w960/p1 is not a minus, different ppl-different tastes&needs

Last 2 years SE did not showed impressive phones(according to me=>I did not buy their phone last 3 years-last one t610, which was best-of-the-rest), until now-with p1 and w960.. keep on that way SE!

@Prom 1
However good you may feel the P1 keypad is it is not a full qwerty with a massive viewing screen so no advantage here to the P1.
How exactly is M2 an advantage over Micro SDHC? as these are already available in 4GB and @£40 approx and larger sizes already announced for later this Year. So what advantage does M2 have as i can't see any,
Ram both devices have 164mb installed and neither have 150mb's free after boot up up both have approx 80mb Ram free after boot up so again no advantage to one or the other.
Chip wise the E90 wins no contest as has the OMAP242O with Power VR MBX graphics chip so again here the E90 is the winner using the latest and highest spec available whilst the P1 & W960 both still use the same very old chip as the original UIQ3 chips and why they are held back from higher quality Video recording and even playback is effected.
By all accounts the camera in the E90 is also excellent so no advantage to either device here either.
Finally and most important one device will be fully supported with fast release of Firmware upgrades whilst who knows what SE will do after recent events.

Quote from e90's specs:
Dimensions 132 x 57 x 20 mm, 140 cc
Weight 210 g
Now go and buy it.. Cause I will not.. Even if it's 50euro and it's the best of the rest from all the producers I will still not buy it!.. It's da*n ugly and huge and so heavy! I would better buy a full-featured PDA instead of this.. And where is the touch screen?! We see e90 is a just as the PDAs.. but oh, again nokia has no touch screen, why do u need it, when u have so many keys?! I'm not a SE fan, I even have motorola now.. N95 biggy too.. (the dimensions in the specs are not true+for slide even they are big..)

Dogman,
I was refering to Pros/Cons of the P1i (as an upgrade to the P990i) but I forgot to type that.
The E90 IS a great phone no doubt, however placement of the cam cannot be helped when its in open clam on the desk. I really like it but I feel the form-factor of the P1 is STILL the best.
If anyone is used to prolonged gaming on a Nintendo Gameboy then they SHOULD have no trouble thumb typing on either the P1i, E90 or a BlackBerry. if you can type quick SMS's on a numerical keypad & favor using multitap then its an adjustment curve over daily usuage thats needed.
The official press information on the P1i doesn't mention its video playback speed nor its recording of video size and speed either. WHY does SE insist on crippling its flagship phone? This is something it SHOULD be representative of ALL its other phones.

@PcMan, 3G will be available in Turkey in a few months, probably because EDGE was so widely available they weren't hurrying.
A user at my-symbian has reported that after playing with the P1 for a while he found out that the P1 has the same "CText" bug as the P990, it has the same fw. For those who haven't followed, this bug means that if you get/compose an email with over 2000 characters/2 paragraphs, the application aborts without saving your text. The same bug also effects the notes application and any application that uses the CText layout control.

As I mentioned before. SE does not use more than three numeral digits in their phone model
Not meaning to split hairs, but wasn't there a flip phone a couple of years ago that had a four digit number? Something like the z5050 iirc....
Could be wrong, but I thought I had a slight memory of it...

Hi all,
As Makbil has mentioned you may want to read what has been said about the P1 as it does appear although it has extra Ram it still suffers from the P990 problems here is the link

ahh, these are proto versions still, may change when its released. quite a few smartphones have memory leaks when released any way. they arent perfect from scratch. i think its best you save your judgements until there are reviews on retail versions.

Jimm Only u can confirm 100% is there a Megabass in the P1 too?? In some specs megabass is ticked, in others not.. Same in the SE's site..
