Well i don't think so. See, if i was SonyEricsson then, why would i release a 1.3 megapicel camera with the t610/t630/k700 form factor and size and kill the sale of the S700. I think SE would remove another k/t model with slight improvements (eg. t610-t630) for an eventual release of such a claim model (with memory slot/megalpixel) in may 2005!
------------------------
Theres no reason it should kill the sale of the K700 - quite the opposite. Having several different priced models targeted at different groups only increase the possibility of a customer to find the phone that is right for her.
We dont need to have only one S//E phone at one price.
I like to have a choice between different models - so that I may get what I need and only pay for that. If I dont need 1.3mp camera or memoryslot - I have a choise of getting the K700 at a lower cost.
Freedom of choise is what its about.

Well, i really doubt it won't have any bad influence on sales. I mean, having a phone in sept with the s700 features would make a large mass of public to buy this ( cheaper right?!) phone than the s700. In a long run maybe the biggest sales will be on the s700, but for at least 6 months from the "t650" launch, this one will rule the market.
So i guess it'll stay just like they said it will.

what we seem to forget is that 99% of the mobile buying public dont come on forums like this so are unaware of any upcoming models and hence will buy whatever they like at the time! Unlike some of us here who hold out on buying one model because we know of a better upcoming one! so I dont think sales will be affected at all.
any responses should be forwarded to

well everything depends on the prices.... but still is se had t610 and z600 at almost the same time, maybe this can happen with t650 and s700 because a lot of people don't like the roto design....
though it is strange that they didn't annunced t650 now if they are really going to do it....
i would be suprised if se isn't planning to release a "high tech" bar phone this year (or atleast announce it...)
but the real problem that bugs me is:
where is the "real" competitor to s60 phones? where is the sx1, 7610, 6600, sendo x, panasonic x700 etc etc competitor?!? all they need is a great open os to backup their great technology like in p900....

SE might incorporate the palm os in their candybar smartphone.

Uiq3 based phones aren't expected before q4. Why delay the s60 competitor?
