is it a bug? it's not for me. everytime I plug the phone to the computer and use any other mode than PHONE MODE, it will do that. usually there will be a "warning" message like "your phone will not be usable during this operation" or something like that. the phone will be "dead" for a while, probably 1-2 minutes, before it turns itself back on. unfortunately I haven't tried any other mode when I still had 037.....

Hiya,
I'm new here and couldn't see if this was right place to ask this or not but here goes anyway......
I recently updated the software/firmware via the SE Update Service program for my K850i. All went fine with download/install and then once that had finished and taken out/replace battery as instructed it doesn't turn on quite properly.
What happens is it is fine getting to the flight/normal mode selection screen. Loads up and then periodically every 10 or so seconds looks like it kind of switches off and comes back on and repeats this for infinity.
I've had a quick check of the forums and couldn't see much regarding this so thought would post here and see if anyone could help me out here.
Cheers,
Nick

that is a common problem. Recently there is two reportedly effective way to control that issue
a) Master reset
b) remove battery by 30 seconds upward

I am 95% happier with new firmware (Western Euro-unbranded). Most of the bugs that pissed me off the most are now fixed. My only important remaining complaint is the same as several people here....my phone reboots a lot more. A few times a day with no rhyme or reason - I'm never doing the same thing, but I am always doing *something* - it doesn't reboot while sitting on my desk at work.
I've tried leaving the battery out for a few minutes but did not help.
I did not do the Master Reset after update because I really don't want the grief of losing paid-for games and putting all of my custom Contact pics/ringtones back on. I would need hard proof that an MR would fix the reboot issue and I haven't seen it. I did the other FW updates w/o needing to do this.
Just adding my 2 cents to the growing list of multi-reboots.

some people are such complainers.. dont you remember the tons of bugs k800/k810 had when it was newly/months after it was released?? and look at it now. every k800/k810 users says "its the best cam fone ever" blah blah.. did they say that when the unit was first released?? i dont think so.... just give it time... there will be bugs and issues.. for now.. its getting better now, imho.. just some minor bugs are there..
i feel sorry for those who encountered the "blue ring of death" though..
peace!!

Couldn't do A because it doesn't stay on long enough to really do that and i have tried B to no avail. Anymore ideas?

Nick install the update again using SEUS. If that dows not work then take it to your SE Service Centre.
EDIT: Also charge your battery to full.

If you plug it into SEUS, does it give you the option to "Continue Anyway" atfer saying you are already up to date? If so, reflash with SEUS and do Master Reset after you power it back on. Failing this I beleive you need a Tech Centre (Or Davinci if you dont mind spendin 8quid) to do a full over-write install of the firmware. Should be fine after one of these.
All I know is I debranded via Davinci (Western Euro) then updated SEUS and I havent had a single fault yet. I have done mass storage mode HEAPS and use accelerometer themes and Media player all the time on a 4GB card and never a problem!
Maybe there are some units out there that actually do work perfect??

Same s**t happened to me. I solve it by formatting microSD (after back it up) by windows first (cuz I didnt find the option to format with phone ..

?... if you know where it is try format by phone), and second by phone when he told me that the microSD is bad formated, and I should to format it by phone. And then I'll putted back all my content on the new formated microSD, and that "bug" gone.
