So, since Kiki is a XPERIA phone I expect it's a smartphone. Anyone knows which OS it runs?

Actually I've been using X1 since december 2008 (previously P990, P1i - I also have my 2nd phone, C702 - all three with front cameras). The 3G or HSDPA coverage in Warsaw is almost perfect but since december I've used video call literally 4 times. In the past I've played with it a bit as it was novelty. At this point I think it's not so popular, and actually not really needed in everyday life.

in fact i used to thought it is bad idea to drop front camera....but it seem it is a right move....most consumer prefer to use 3G or HSPA for data more than Video call...in fact I have been using my HSDPA phone over one year purely on data and I just don't prefer video call.

It depends on people's needs, probably it is not needed in YOUR everday life. Other people don't need GPS, or internet or other phone features that other people can't live without.
I think front video camera should be included on any 3G phone.

Yes, you're right. I was speaking about myself But for now I think that the problem lays in the android platform. As far as I know the 3G camera is not included in any of android devices on the market (for the moment).

Rachel's UI looks beautiful and like someone said previously, it reminds us of the old UIQ videos. I doubt any Symbian interface can be as good as that and SE should drop it after Satio, take up Android and run with it.

Boinng and I were the only two people who shared this opinion before the release of this Ui video.

I still say they should go with Android and turn it into their special Os. It also helps that it is open source.

On my side,
I hope WM will stay as a main business OS.

@doministry

Somehow I see the battle being between Symbian and Android within SE. To be honest, I don't think they are likely to drop WM.

Should Android be a spectacular success then they are likely to scale down on Symbian and who knows, maybe even dump it and stick with Android and WM which to me would be a wise move.

However, should the opposite happen with regard to Symbian vs Android then it would be interesting to see how they progress from thereon.

Symbian is already under immense pressure and losing a lot of market share to the likes of RIM and Apple. They are yet to unveil the new Os and also contend with Android which will result in further losses.

I see a beautiful picture of anexciting distribution in terms of market share among the available and soon to be available smartphone Oss.

I must say though that chances of Android being a failure are next to nothing. Just give me a P1-like Android phone and I'm over the moon, I'll happily retire my wonderful but slow P1.

@EMSO6

Sadly I think the form factor of P1i will not make a comeback. COnsidering the recent leaks I think SE will be going for X1 form QWERTYs and Touch only like Satio or Rachael. X1 is good and confortable to type with but i cannot achieve the same speed as with my former P1i....

Anyway as long as they dont totally drop QWERTYs I am Happy Anybody any ideas when we will be seeing the first phones with the new symbian OS. cannot be that long away if SE were even planning to release it on the Satio....?
