Well Apple and Samsung owe their market share due to their premium products. Especially Apple, at least where I live their products are ridiculously expensive, yet everyone is brainwashed into buying them thinking their problem free...
Samsung's market strategies made them sell their plastics to millions, while you cannot simply deny their ultra-low-ends cheapos are also selling very well. Nokia's fall and the popularity of the iPhone made them rise up so quickly.
Apple, on the other hand, has their own bandwagon of sheeps. Buying every product released by the fruit, no matter the cost, just for showing off how they could spend their money without them realizing it's an overpriced Facebook/Instagram/Temple Run machine.
Sony needs to integrate their mobile phones to emerging nations by offering them low-ends, so that these nations would be introduced to a mobile phone maker that differentiates itself from plastics and hyped products.

Looks like we'll still be seeing entry-levels from Sony, but for developing nations. Seems they realized going for all premium won't win them a larger global market share.

Most Chinese people will buy a Chinese made product over anything else. Unless that product is over hyped or they are not your typical Chinese person...

By the term Developing Nations, doesn't mean China only....
ASEAN Nations, India (and other BRIC countries), South America etc
So there are lots of space for Sony to expand its low entry or budget devices
But I think they should Introduce new Brand name for those budget phones or FF OS

very modest ambition, but this is understandable for super tough competition.

You know how they are brainwashed by their own government, no wonder they buy their own products.

Stick with Android, new OS for the entry-levels won't get them anywhere.

Android is good, but its really hard for them to compete with SS.....for the time being
FF OS is laggy, but still have room for improvement, it also does not required much specs to run=>>> cheaper devices
So i think its better for Sony to offer wide range of OS devices for the consumers to choose (Ubuntu, Firefox, Android and ....hopefully Vita OS

)

We all remember when there was only Sony Ericsson and Nokia in the battle
Today we have LG,Samsung,HTC,Apple and Sony
And every year the same battle same strategies
Like s2-s3-s4 and arc-s-z always just improves
We miss this innovation we had old days where every year you get something new
2014 will bring old days -just sayin-

I think Sony will hold event in April announce the dogo and huasan and the rest beside the C670x
Cuz there must flashgip if a company hold an event
They won't hold it for a mid and low ranges or they could announce them un mwc
So I think they will announce a flashgip too
Opinions??

Excluding India, China's population makes them the majority of buyers for developing countries. If they can't breach into brainwashed China what plus in their market share does the rest give them...?

Hmmm, that is plausible. Probably why they are so eager about FF, should be good for low-ends. But I'll still stick with Google's.

Nokia tried to bring innovations with their PureView 808 and Lumia 920, it's just that they have fallen so deep and they are hanging on loose soil with WP8. We all crave for something new, and we all hope Sony would bring.
Anyway, C670X I think is scheduled for Q3. Dogo and HuaShan would be enough for Q2.

They'll still have the rest of the world. China's too restricted, they won't be able to penetrate the Great Wall unless Sony offers their phones for the government to spy on its users.
Don't mind my rage, you know how we Filipinos are to China's ridiculous claims on our territories.
