Oh yes indeed! The reboot is a reality. Now i also read that the phone did not only reboot but also misses to sound the alarm! I'm starting a new job on monday and i use my phone as an alarm clock so i can't oversleep for the comming 6 months! I'm going to use my K700 as a backup alarm to be on the safe side!
It would be nice to be able to trust your phone to allways work and allways sound the alarm!!

I just debranded my Telstra K850 using KulanKendi client. The reason being is that it only cost 8 euro and you could flash 3 times within 24hrs (in case u make a mistake).
So at first I loaded a generic western europe R1DA038 and it worked fantastic. Then I read that the new R1EA031 firmware is out and so I thought I'd use SEUS to update it. Well this didn't work as SEUS said that my phone already had the latest version on it.
I then read on another forum that SEUS will update it only if it is R1DA037 - so using my second flash credit I downgraded to a generic western europe R1DA037. I then re-tried to use SEUS and it worked but then WTF!!!, IT SAYS TELSTRA R1DA038 is the next available update?!?!?! How the hell did it decide that the GENERIC western europe firmware should be replaced with the poxy TELSTRA firmware again?? I just paid 8euro to DE-brand it! I'm certainly not going to let it be RE-branded from SEUS.
So I used my last remaining credit to re-flash back to the generic western europe R1DA038 and have left it at that for the moment.
My conclusion - There is something in the hardware that allows SEUS to detect that it is a Telstra phone and will always try to restore the Telstra firmware.
Anyone else had this problem? Any other Telstra K850's able to update to R1EA031?
Final Note:
Kulankendi also had a R1EA031 generic western europe firmware which I was going to flash onto the phone but it said it had a CID 110 and not the usual CID 52. Any ideas as to the new CID number?

It doesn't say "UK" it says 3 network branding. 3 operate in more than just one country and the UK network obviously isn't included in the 039 update.

@Nick
The most recent unbranded UK firmware on Da Vinci is 'K850i R1CA037 CID52 K850 1201-9794 CUSTOMIZED UK/ BLUE WESTERN-EUROPE'
I flashed to that from Vodafone, then updated to the new firmware on SEUS without problems
It doesn't make a difference what the original network was

Just went to the davinci site and downloaded the client to run a scan on the phone and this is what it came out with (below). Will the one you suggested still work? Is there anything glaringly obvious that is wrong with it that SEUS screwed up when it did the update?
Oh and finally is the davinci stuff simple to do? From what i can see is you purchase the credit. Login. Let it do the scan. Do a software update. Select what you want and go? What makes this different from the SEUS updating way? Just so i know it definitely stands a good chance of working. Does it do a complete wipe and then install the firmware where as the other one just updates a couple of files?

More or less yeah...I'd definitely say its worth doing...very easy to do just follow step by step instructions

Does anybody think it's worth to re-flash your phone on (the R1EA031 firmware) Da Vinci in an attempt to get rid of the reboot problem? My point is that the flashing at Da Vinci does a more thorough and total flash of ones phone than SEUS does.

While I am not an expert and don't pretend to be one, my common sense is telling me that a complete flash overwrite is better than a partial upgrade from 37 to 31. As in the case of XP to Vista, its better to do a clean install of Vista than install XP then Upgrade to Vista. Our Java platforms may be different... or not...
I can testify however, my phone never rebooted and my vibra touch option hasn't disappeared. I used davinci to install 31 on 2/23 (4 days ago).
