@ Sainty -- I would love to send it to you, but unfortunately they have charged my credit card for it. And I definitely can't afford to pay for two of these babies!

@ Spine6 -- I have the BST-33.

@ Dogmann -- I apologize if I offended you or anyone else on the forum with my comments. I think you may have misunderstood what I was trying to say. I did NOT mean to say that you have to be smart to use the phone or that you are not smart if you are having bugs. I just meant that with the delays of the phone and reports of bugs for the last several months, we all knew what we were getting ourselves into. "Smart" was probably not the right word to use; rather "informed" would be more appropriate. You insinuate that I feel smarter than others here, but this is definitely not the case. There are many greater minds in this forum than mine. I just feel that I was informed in my decision to buy this phone, as anyone should be when making such a purchase. I personally do not mind if someone reports a thousand bugs, but there is no need to speak in such a demeaning way as to say that anyone who bought the phone is a beta-tester and was stupid for spending their money on it. We have just as much right to spend our money on this device as anyone else does to not buy the phone right now. I have no problem with all of you who are waiting to buy the phone, and I do not mean to offend you. I actually commend you for having the willpower to wait and believe that you are making the decision that is best for you. I just don't want you to ridicule those of us here who do have the phone, because chances are that most of us are pretty satisfied with the phone. If you do currently own the phone, you are likely an enthusiast who knows what they want in a phone. So be enthusiastic about your purchase! If there are bugs that are preventing you from being fully satisfied with the device, then make yourself and others happy by getting rid of it. But I don't really believe this is the place for this kind of discussion. So Dogmann please PM me regarding further comments. And once again, I apologize to you and anyone offended. I should have written the post in a way that it would not be misconstrued. Have a good day!

Can't we all just get along?

Hi Chris,
I accept all of what you say and accept perhaps i took your wording badly but due to meds and pain am perhaps a little touchy, so sorry. I have never said that the people who are being Beta Testers are stupid as it needs to be done. Everyone is free to spend their money and do as a they please IMO and should be free of judgement or criticism my beef is with the manufacturers not the end users.
I totally agree that we should all be able to discuss all of the issues in a frank and open manor without being attacked for our opinions, after all this is what a Forum is for not to launch personal insults at each other for daring to hold different opinions. Like you i hope that those who insist on insulting others just grow up and learn to have a little tolerance. Got to go now as the nice postman has just delivered my new toy a N93, and yes if it doesn't live up to my expectations it will go back as i am a fussy consumer.

Marc

PS Ares learn to read dude i started by saying i was happy that he was pleased with his unit, as i am for you just stop attacking anyone that disagrees with you as it really isn't necccesary is it?

Hi chriswg52,
I am for one am really happy you are so pleased with your P990 and seem to encounter nothing more than a few minor irritations. But i do take exception on your view that those who own one and are currently reporting problems are not smart enough to use it properly and are just whingers for complaining. I don't know you or how smart you actually are as opposed to how smart and smug you feel, but some of those that are reporting faults are some of the most respected members of this forum.

You may well be prepared to accept what they are not but that does not make them wrong just that you operate with and expect lower standards than them. If you can not accept any criticism of a less than perfect product or your beloved SE you are truly sad IMO. It is their money and they have every right to complain and point out when things are wrong as you are to accept it.

Marc

For gods sakes dude you dont half go on and one dont you??, you and your constant moaning about the phone and its inadequacies. Yes we know you are not impressed with the phone and you have major issues with it and SE...yes we know that...now shut up about it as its getting tiring and boring hearing you regurgitate the same old points over and over again.

@SEP990i, yes that is correct I don't think there is many free 'open' hotspots in the UK though. Wish I lived in New York hehe

I think you might be surprised how many 'free' open hotspots there are in the UK. I'm in Edinburgh which is a fairly compact city, and there are *stacks* of open spots available so it is always worth checking. NodeDB can be worth checking, although it's easier just to do a search as most people don't report their AP these days. The site seems to be down right now, but it should be at nodedb.com .

For those wondering how to check whether their mail provider supports IMAP IDLE (AKA push email for the masses), you might like to check out this blog post: http://feetup.org/blog/mobile/Easy-Push.html .

www.martinfields.com

supposedly the best one. They are shipping from Singapore but it doesn't take more than a week with normal shipment.

I am using a Martin Fields screen protector and it is excellent. The clarity is as if there is no protector at all! I have used Boxwave and Brando in the past. They are all actually very good in my opinion.

@ Dogmann -- I'm glad we reached an understanding. Enjoy your N93!

Screen protectors

For some reason I always mess-up my MFOP screen protectors so I tend to use Brando Ultra Clear which are very easy to apply and then remove.
