well anyway I was able to reflash my phone using wotanserver.com and it was fast and nothing too much to do... only paid $9 USD local repair shops tried to ask around $20

I just saw it today. I thought R4EA031 was the newest but it's not! The only problem is that they don't have America_1 version, they have American_2 though.
I found it on the SEUniverse FTP site, anybody know the story?

You know I am still using R4CK003 as I have never been able to get my phone to update over the air. I read alot about SEUS but most of it is about how people's phones have gone dead afterwords. What is the deal with this? Is there a safe and free way to update and if so what firmware should I be looking for?
Mine came unlocked and unbranded directly from SonyEricsson in the States and it is running software version CXC1250316, R4CK003.

It took several tries but I finally got SEUS to work and it actually installed an OLDER firmware on my phone. I used DaVinci to fix it and update the firmware and uninstalled all of that SE crap from my computer never to be used again.
Unfortunately SEUS is the ONLY way to do it for free, and there's a reason it's free... it's JUNK!

you tell me i tried using SEUS recently and all it gave me was a flashing white screen... I used wotanserver to update to the R4E firmware APAC and wallah my phone is working now.. I removed all the SE software crap from my computer all I wanted was update my firmware because my radio was not..

I have the same firmware as u. I'm content with it so far. Haven't found a single problem with it so far (no hissing, led-bug, contact picture, mega base etc.) Nothing! All seems working well for me!
I have a w800 also with R1aa. I've been using it for about a year now and i'm very content with it.
