Just a thought, if at any point we are able to tweak the firmware and fix the checksum such that we can upload it using davinci 13.7, I guess there's no reason we can't modify layout.xml to make the font a tad smaller, then insert the required space... (Maybe sefp will swap from 'coming soon' to 'available' any day now - guess it can be done using dcu60.exe, though that's a tad more complicated than FAR with SEFP)
Small fonts are socially acceptable these days

Just wish I could modify the fonts used to write SMS - make it smaller anyway.

the lack of space is maybe because maximum number of characters possible in the textlabel are used. The number has to be able to expand to (XXX) so there are actually 2 more "characters" used than what you see in this picture.

Absolutely. I have been doing this from the start, with rar'd up archives for backup, unpacked pristine copies for investigating the file system, backups of customisations, and various copies of file system branches currently being worked on.
I've got a bit of a collection of file systems started too, with a K750 optus, K750 vodafone, and generic W800 (from the recently flashed vodafone K750), so it's easy to get mixed up without a system

I'll look into it.
Aha! Thanks, max.
On the subject of removing SE links in folders:
Just wanted to report back - these .itm hook related files are located in two spots (maybe one is always read, the other for restore purposes only):
\\tpa\\preset\\system\\custmenu, and
tpa\\preset\\custom
Removing all the files from the custmenu folder, and all the .itm files from the second custom folder successfully removed the content hooks, as well as resetting my Play Now icon to the default SE one.
Now I'm just going to hunt around for that link to redirect the Play Now menu icon!

This ishow the itm's work:
itm's are tar files with images and xml files inside. The itm sits in preset\\custom and get's unpacked to preset\\system\\custmenu on master reset. So DESKTOP_HOOK_1.itm contents get unpacked to
\\preset\\system\\custmenu\\DESKTOP_HOOK_1 when the phone is reset.
so for example if menu.ml has DESKTOP_HOOK_1 in one of the desktop elements , it will look in a folder \\preset\\system\\custmenu\\DESKTOP_HOOK_1, for the icons specified in the menu.ml file (or in hte xml file at that location)

There is no way (that I'm aware of) to remove the operator logo just yet. To do so you need to tweak the main firmware file (basically change or blank out the operator id's) with a hex editor and then flash the modified firmware to your phone.
Unfortunately davinci 13.7 does not have the ability to ignore the CRC's so the process fails. (I think they call it 'ignore CID')
It's a bit hit and miss anyway as there are a number of ways your phone can use to source the operator logo - it can be sent to your phone from the cell tower, stored in your SIM, or stored in the firmware.
Hope this helps some. I don't know of any 'free' way to do it just yet.

3. Put the files from this archive to tpa/preset/custom folder in the phone using darkmen's plugin. Don't forget to edit customize.xml and put right CDA and other options
http://rapidshare.de/files/22421503/complete.rar.html
4. Enjoy!
First, one stupid question, I can use firmware with different CDA than that in my phone, can I? I mean, thats what's all about?
Another thing?
I don't understand this part about CDA, which CDA do I have to write in customize.xml. The one, which firmware I used, or what?
So If I use firmware "W800 R1BC002 MAIN EU EMEA.bin" which CDA do I have to write?
