@Looko

goto Program File>Sony Ericsson>Update Service>db>137???>blob_fs

and delete the downloaded firmware files and then try the update service again

@dirkies

You you have a SIM FREE version or do you have a contract phone ?

If your version is a Contracted one, that's why you can not load the latest frimware :

If your's is SIM free you should be getting the following software:

PHone : R7A001
BT : R4F01
Org. : R3B01
CDA : R3B01

SIM free model, absolutely unbranded, vanilla p990, 1,5 weeks old!

seems to be related to the CDA suffix

mine is

CDA : CDA162008/55

/55 looks like why the update refuses...

dunno what it stands for tho' (?)

@Jah,
Hi Jah, thx ..it works. I just update my firmware. However when I deleted thos e files, update service fell in some kind of loop. So I automatic and manually uninstalled it. New install and update is completed...

thx!

Dirkies- look at this summation page ( http://p990.davedigerati.com/#FirmwareVersionTheory ) and you will see what we all *might* have.

Your FW would indicate, therefore, a branded phone from Belgium. Double whammy on getting a FW upgrade is the guess is correct. Let us know how it goes and when you finally do get an upgrade so we can continue to try and piece together the versions for these phones.

thanks,
DavidDigerati

My phone is CDA: CDA162007/1

and it is very much "UNBRANDED"

your page has the details reversed... ie it should be

2007 - unbranded
2008 - branded

I got the CDA162008/65 R1A02 and I ensure is Italian and not branded (in Italy we haven't got any branded version yet) so I'm not understanding the code policy ......????

Hello there.

I have owned the P990 for three days now. I got it this sunday and i charged the battery for 15 hours and before i start loding it with contacts and everything i decided to update it, i heard it was an update out there. i intalled everything and itīworked out just fine. I downloaded the update manager on the SE website and got started. Everything went well, i took FOREVER it fellt like. 30 min, i was a little worried. Not used to updates taking 30 min. i said it was finsied and the update was a succes. i unplugged it and put the simcard in and started the phone. Flash, and then NOTING. Scared as hell. i pused on/off again. Same thing. Flash - Nothing. SHIT.

Itīs dead. I tryed to flash it almost 10 times and i took the battery out and everything. Dead. I called SE call center the next day and they said that they never heard of the problem and i should go to the store and get it replaced. DOA he said. No problem at the store (thanx Telenor for good service) i got it replaced. BUT. Now, should i try to update it again or should i go with it as it is?

Dont fix something thatīs not broken i have learned. How do i check what FW and software version i have? AgileMessenger is working like a charm and WLAN works great. No problem. Memory runs out sometimes but then i just close some software and itīs ok again.

Whatīs your advice?

Best regards
Azon
