lol. hope will be this year! Yesterday i needed to take a lot of pictures for a work but i sold my old digital camara to buy a new one next mounth so i have to use the p990. I took about 150 fotos and while that the phone get stuck 4 times and for one time said camara malfuncion. Now a couple of hours ago i had another problem... i received about 4or 5 sms at the same time from a friend and later he said to me that sent them 1hour before. This is not the first or second time that happen. At least it happened about 6 or 7 times since i got the p990.

Hey @sidneymarius
u know i face the same problems as u have mentioned. hope the next fw will rectify those things. i also would demand a good camera driver. the sharpness in 990i is far from the qulity that my 750i used to give.

miguel82, whats your operator??? vodafone??? i never i had problems with smsīs (iīm on Optimus)
regarding the camera, 100% agreed...its normally too soft, and sometimes it does hang
on other hand iīm pleased to finnaly say my phone does not restart by itself, after more than a month of intensive use, with flip and without flip, and even pushing at the limit (situations of nearly 0% RAM left).

Ive seen some users with this issue too and its not the first phone that ive got that sometimes had this problem (with p800 and p900 i had that too with the firsts firmwares). For mine experience i think this happens because the OS get degraded very quick with just the simple use or the aplications that we install

Now the only question remaining is: which year

LOL.
What bugs me is that the P990 is suppsoed to be a Premium Business Device. Still it requires Firmware upgrades, 3rd Party Software (read as SMP) and 3rd party service (change to World Generic 1) to work.
I used to use an O2 Atom before the SE. I like th SE's format in that it has a proper tactile numeric keypad and touchscreen (I dont know another phone other than O2's Stealth that has this). The Jog dial and most of the buttons are where yo expect them to be and there are many nice things to be said about the P990 (the list is long) but all of this fails to impress when many phones (other than World Generic 1) are unstable.

There are just 2 problems that remain with my P990 after the latest update. The 1st is 3rd party app-related namely SM Pro- the phone still reboots when i use the FC video viewer which doesn't happen all the time, but nevertheless. 2nd prob is the phone freezing (after a few days' heavy use without restarting the phone) when I take video shots, it wouldn't happen though if I restart the phone every now and then so this doesn't bother me much coz otherwise, the phone is solid with the latest fw. Suffice to say I used to have to babysit my P990 when I 1st bought it. Now I'm glad to say it takes care of itself. But there's still lots of room for improvement SE, still a few bugs to get rid of which I'm just not too bothered by. Someone else might be though so let's keep the updates coming shall we

While we are at it, the performance of Opera , in its current state, is just not acceptable. Its memory requirement is not compatible with the P990 and for this reason shuts down with kern-exec error 50% of the time.
There is still a great deal of memory leak, even with level 3 memory reclaim using SMP, the max available memory decreases a little every day, about 14.5 MB after boot to just over 10 MB after 5 days. Either the memory is not released properly or there is some OS cache that keeps getting larger.
Overall, there is a huge improvement in the P990 compared to its state in December, restarts are extremely rare now. However, it is still a good idea to manually restart the phone about once a week to take care of the memory problem.
PCSuite also needs a rework, especially the backup/restore and file manager modes. Since Intuvawe (the company that created m-Router) has gone bankrupt and is no longer supporting that program, SE may be looking for a new solution. I was having problems with connecting the P990 to my PC and was able to download a newer version of m-Router just before they shut down, this solved my problem.

Aren't you lucky. My P990i locks up at least three times a day, and I've got World Generic 1 and R9EC001. Every time I take it out of the charger, it is locked up. If I leave any programs running before closing the flip, it will lock up within a few hours. Most calls don't come through because the phone has crashed (I'm using a twin SIM and the other phone is ringing but not the P990i).
