the alarm thing is sooo funny! se is just plain humurous.. they're going to remove a problem but adds another one. i have a very important appointment earlier. i have my career on the line for that 10:15pm appointment. set the alarm, tested the alarm sound..loud enough. so i wonder why are you guys talking about a very low alarm sound. it sounds really loud and good enough for me. after that, turned phone to flight mode to prevent disturbances. decided to sleep. and i dont know what happened next. i just woke up 12:00mn with my phone near me whispering like a cricket! hahahaha! so the next r6 firmware will have some issues fixed and another buncha surprises..

Finally I updated my P990i thru SEUS and its working faster than previous version but I'm bit confused of seeing the memory bcoz on the status manu "Available memory shows 5.9MB but at device storage memory shows 19/62 and don't understood why this imblanced figure showing.

Anyone plz explain this reason...

Thats because its talking about the RAM of the fone that is available, not the amount of space available, they are two different things...

Mine does not either.

I was getting a lot of restarts (on incoming calls) with auto key lock on. so I guess what the smart guys is SE did was to disable auto key lock altogether.

Imagine if this mehod was used by Honda or GM.

Problem:
Brakes fail if the Stereo is on

Solution:
Remove Stereo

BOTH keylocks work fine for me (with R5A17). There is one "Automatic keylock" under Security > Locks in the Control Panel, and that one only works when the flip is closed. The other one, "Automatic input lock" is found under Device > Screensaver in the Control Panel, amd that one is only for Flip Open/Off. I guess you're just using one of the two... If that's not the case, you should do a master reset or internal disk format.

Don't ask me why split the keylock in two, they just did.

I have 17.1 MB with SMP. It would depend on what additional applications you have running. AFAIK there is no standard minimum RAM requirement.
Also, IMHO how much RAM you have at boot time does not indicate how well the device will run. There is still possibility for considerable improvement if memory management is improved and memory leak can be stopped.

I too have the problem where I could focus the camera in macro mode then switch to video and enjoy perfectly focused close-up video. Now when i switch to video the focus resets. Why on earth do they do things like this, it makes me so mad.

Personally my P990i doesn't seem any faster than before. POP3 email works through Wifi but no longer works through GPRS, no matter which of the O2 settings I try, the ones from O2, ones from SE, nothing works.

The "jane" voice in TOMTOM now sounds really tinny and terrible.

My final gripe (for now)...previously you could take a picture on the largest setting with it set to "fine" and send it to someone. Now it just says it is too big and the message will not send., For god's sake every other SE phone simply asks "do you want to resize the image for sending".

I was sat in my local pub the other day fiddling round with my stupid P990i when a bloke down the bar whipped out his immaculate P910i.....I asked him if he fancied a direct swap and he said NO!!!!! enough said.

phone is off despite its on !!!
which means that someone calls me, and finds my phone out of coverage area (closed)!!

any idea?

P.S: I only have SMP and Psiloc Crystal Arabic Localization installed on my phone.
