Optical zoom degrades quality due to the narrower field of view and the lesser amount of light hitting the sensor. In the case of CMOS sensors that means less detail due to stronger noise reduction. In really bad cases it probably makes little difference whether the zoom is optical or digital...

In the C905 is technically capable of recording video in VGA, and Sony Ericsson doesn't put it in despite of this, I'm renaming the company to Sonobrainicson.

I can only assume SE are saving decent video recording for a later video orientated phone. Shame they cant bring this res across the board but 1 step at a time I guess.

What res does the S0905 record in?
