hello again pohuman, I think there is another bug in the new driver. There are times that when you take a picture you will have photo that has 1 horizontal line, but not the same as the other users problem. It looks like or has an effect like when you use Picasa's
Graduated Tint effect. This issue usually occurs when the flash is on and with an unfocused subject. It's comparable with a DSLR camera with slow shutter speed but fast capture. So the camera can still capture the part of shutter but only w/tint effect not totally dark
Though this occurs rarely, this is just to inform you. I'll try to upload a picture soon if the occurrence ever comes again.
Still a better driver than before specially in photos w/flash. By the way I also noticed that Document and Sport Scenes have a based ISO set to 50/64 so I got darker photos on poor lighting. But then I don't really use those modes as much, just checking the quality of the images per mode scenes.

edit: i just cleaned the light sensor and it seemed to somewhat fix it
