Idiotic?

It would be if we were not talking 'bout SE. They announced a 'Symbian Foundation' Satio only to release it with the dreadful S60!!

I actually expect them to be that foolish!

The "square phone"?

The phone (windows phone 7?) running a 1.xMhz processor?
Robyn man, sorry to break it like that. But god damn, updating the main post is going to be hard soon. I lost my internet connection at home and the PC.....might have to hand over the reins if I can't be here for MWC.

I don't believe that robyn is the square phone

Are we still on this, Dups?

S60 IS SF1. that IS the official word from the foundation itself.

@synn

I forgot where exactly you posted that picture cause I would use on you. But here goes: come on son!!

The 5800 was/is running S60 and was announced as that, this S60 is SF1 is just advertising with no sense at all. Take a look at a non touch S60 phone and see if you can tell the difference. SF is just trying to dig itself out the mess by calming the public in claiming that S60 v5 has suddenly turned into SF1.

S60 5th turned into SF^1 the moment the licensing changed.

@xell

We're playing at semantics here. What is on offer on phones is still the old S60 and nothing new. It's like Microsoft going open source (yeah right!!) and claiming that WinMo 6.5.3 is now WinMo 7, doesn't work like that for me.

Licensing terms vs current phones' OS.

Nope... An open source os doesn't make make a phone cheaper (X10 = 500€ /550€)

@Dups! who have said that 6.5.3 is 7???

@XPHCTOC

You didn't read that post correctly, did you?

I think we've hijacked this thread. See what you did synn?

If Nokia and some of you guys are happy to call S60 v5 because of licensing changes so be it but for me SF is still to come, probably SF4 would be the real deal. What is happening right now is S60 evolving.

Apologies for having diverted the thread.
